This design is MUCH improved over the previous version that was taken off the market a couple of years ago. Previous model could not withstand the pressure of air removal and would break. Marinates in a minimal amount of time (just enough time to prepare the other ingredients of your dish) and food prepared is juicy and flavorful. Easy to clean and store. Only issues are the size, which is too large for a dinner for two, and the vacuum device, which you have to apply pressure to the lid to remove the air properly.

This Instant Marinator makes food taste like it's been marinating all day long. Now, those specific last minute meal requests such as Chicken Teriyaki,don't need to be denied. And no one else has to know the ease of preparation and clean up.

In general, a great well...instant marinater. It really does a good job with steaks (45 minutes with 4 steaks and had a tasty mustard marinated crusted steak). The next thing I will try is Korean ribs though as that will be the true test. All in all very happy with the product and easy to use!

I use this to marinate for cooking in oven and grilling. Love the quickness and the flavor of what I'm marinating. Wish it was a little bigger and a little deeper (for a roast for example). I tend to cook large quanities. I love to cook and try new recipes so over all I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this product.

We love this product. Marinates very quickly. Only used top rack in dishwasher, did not drop and the lid has cracked already since XMas. Definitely purchase the replacement insurance.

I purchased two of these for Christmas gifts.
It is only in the middle of February.
1-the pump part handle comes off while pumping the air out.
2-the other one,doesn't seem to work already. You cannot get all of the air out inorder for the marinater to work correctly. Not sure if it is the pump or the seal.
I love the idea and think that for $40.00 that they would have worked longer than just a couple of months.

We have found this product to be a great tool for faster meals. You can marinate in as less as 10 minutes or leave overnight for great flavor and tender meat. The great bonus to this product is it allows you to use many cuts of meat, we have found if you leave meats in the marinater overnight it does a wonderful job of tenderizing the meat much more than other methods. This is great for barbeque as well.

My husband is the cook of the house and always marinates the meat before cooking so I thought this might save him some time. He absolutely loves the "Instant Marinater"! So do I, we eat much earlier which is much healthier. I would recommend this product for everyone from the simple cook to the professional chef...and at this price you just can't go wrong

The system operates well as does this company's Vin Vac. I'm not sure however it does any better than adding tenderizer to a steak, roast or chicken breast. I have not tried using it on more complex marinating recipes.

I bought the marinater as a gift for my boyfriend, who cooks and grills a lot but isn't one to plan ahead. I was very skeptical about the product but took a chance because of the positive reviews. My boyfriend used it to make Chicken Yakitori, which I usually marinate for several days, and it was excellent! I would never have guessed that he marinated the chicken just minutes before grilling. He said the product is easy to use and clean. We love it!

great for pre cookout marinade...especially at spur of the moment. Gets marinade deep into meat.
But, if you over-pump the vacuum it will be very difficult to open the container.

I gave it as a gift to relatives for Christmas. Seems like a great idea. They loved it and they marinate a lot, so it should come in handy since it saves a lot of time. The only thing is the plastic does not seem to be too sturdy, especially the pump. Hopefully it will last a while, but I would not be surprised if it does not.

Questionable quality construction. Works well if it lasts you long enough. Bought it in early December, 2007, imploded on December 30, 2007. I am buying another on December 30, because I was pleased with the results so far but this time will be careful with the pumping so as not to cause another implosion. My wife's comment: "You're still a strong boy after all my years of hard work".

This is great for last-minute marinating. You get the same results as normal overnight marinating in only a few minutes. It's solid construction and also cleans easily. A must-have for any griller.

I don't get home from work until 5:30, and we love the flavor of marinated meat, fish, vegetables, so with the marinator I am able to have it marinated within 1/2/hr.

OK, this product does a noteworthy job for what it is supposed to do: create a vacuum through which the marination process is accelerated. You can actually get a decent marinade in the five minutes cited in the product profile, so I'll give the product credit for that.
The included recipe guide doesn't immediately strike me as too interesting altough it does look like a nice tutorial for those not fully seasoned (pun intended) in the art of BBQ grilling. I think it's referred to as "Grilling for Girls" or something like that, but really, it's fine for everyone.
The material is actually pretty good quality, too. Everything's plastic or rubber and is actually a step up from what you'd (fearfully) expect.
The capacity is also noteworthy: there's plenty of room for meats to serve up to six or eight. I simply made a few steaks the first time out, and they looked pretty lonely. Another tip: try putting a bit of your marinade on the bottom of the dish before placing your meat--this will help saturate both desides of your main course.
You do pay for what you get, though. What I mean is that the product isn't cheap in terms of cost, either. So, I wouldn't call it high value although it may be higher quality.
Bottom line: if you have kids running around your feet and simply want to enjoy a nice marinade that can be prepared in the time it takes to heat the BBQ, this is the item for you. You won't be buying it for a fire sale price, but you also won't find it collecting dust in the corner of your pantry.
