The fan does a great job taking the edge off of the afternoon sun. I don't think the fan is as quiet as is advertised (my last fan was much quieter than this one), but it is certainly not too noisy for an office environment. My last fan didn't oscillate, and I like the fact that this one does.

At 67 I feel I joined the modern age! This is
a wonderful fan; I use it in my study and plan
to order more for my children as well. It is
petite, unobstrusive and quiet, but with such great performance.

We placed this fan on top our entertainment center between various picture frames. It cools our entire living room quickly. With only one AC vent in an open space with sunlight windows - it was always the hottest room in the house. No longer! This little powerhouse of a fan did the trick without adding an eyesore in our common living space.

It was ideal for me. I gave one to my daughter. She emailed: "Hi Mom, I just wanted to thank you for the WONDERFUL Brookstone fan. I absolutely love it. It's so quite and cold! This is going to be a great addition to our new home!!!"(she's getting married and lives in an unairconditioned apartment in NYC.) Truly amazing. Great value!!

The office heating and cooling system isn't comfortable for a large number of our employees. They are always hot. I placed a number of MiniMax Towers in strategic spots throughout their work areas (i.e. under desks to cool feet, behind on countertops, on desks). Everyone is happier, comfortable, and more productive. A particularly desirable feature is the design which prevents paperwork from flying off the desk when the fan is on.

My company moved to a new building and my office now gets the afternoon Atlanta sun. My office gets horribly hot around 1 pm. My boss bought me this fan for my one year anniversary...I love this gift! It is awesome...kicks out cool air.....and it is fairly quiet.

The best small fan I have ever purchased

    Bottom Line:

I have long sought a small fan for use in my bedroom, one that moves enough air but at the same time has small footprint. This fan has fit the bill very well. On the highest speed it really pushes a lot of air, but unlike many other fans where low speed is useless, the low speed on this fan still moves the air noticeably. And there are three speeds.

Another great feature is that the settings you have in place when you turn it off are also the same when you turn it back on; you don't ave to reset the speed, oscillation, etc.

Only one small peeve is that it can be a little noisy on low with oscillation. Also, I would have been willing to pay a little more for remote control like the full-size fan Brookstone sells (which I also own, and it is fabulous).

I now own three of these: one for my office, one for my bedroom, and one for a second home and/or travel. They are powerful enough to really stir the air, but not too noisy. I like a bit of hum in the background when I sleep, and the fan provides that without being obtrusive. The closer you put it, the cooler it gets, but it moves the air in the room regardless of how much you can actually feel it. Compact, nice design, subtle footprint. One hint: the oscillating function lights up a pretty bright blue light, which can be a little bright in the dark. My Solution: any sticker will do.

Attractive Design, Easily Understood Instructions, Easy Installation, Simple Interface
    Cons:
    Oscillate LED Superbright, Overpriced
    Best Uses:

    Describe Yourself:
    Handyman
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The LED for the Oscillate function is unbelievably bright! It can get distracting when you are sleeping. Also it is kind of noisy -- it is a lot noisier than when the fan was brand new like the other reviewer stated.

This fan is kind of overpriced. For this price, it should have an air ionizer built in or something, but it does not! My dad bought this for me and I wish he hadn't spent so money. I would've been happy with a $10 standard circular shaped fan but if you need a fan with a very small footprint and are willing to pay the extra cash, this is the fan to get.

Cool appearance - a strong but noisy fan
By Jo studentVerified Purchaser from Central PA on 8/1/2007

The fan blows a big volume of air. However, the fan started getting noisy within a month. Using the oscillating motion will make the noise worse.
