If you own the digital steam press, buying the stand is a no-brainer. I've had the steam press for 2 years before I found the stand at Brookstone. Without the stand, it was awkward to put the press on a table or a regular ironing board; the height is never ergonomically correct and ironing required a lot of awkward fubling. With the stand, I can iron a regular men's shirt with professional results in about 20 seconds. The stand is very sturdy and set at the perfect height. Also, the detachable rack is a nice touch.
The only negative is the velcro strap for securing the press is too flimsy. But you can mitigate that by buying a large velcro strap from any hardware store and wrap over the existing one to make sure the press doesn't move around. If you own the steam press, you must buy the stand.
