This is the only Vacuum I will ever have. I have used those "disposable" vacuums that last a few years and you have to replace them due to being more expensive to repair it than buy an new one. I went back to "the bag" due to reading all sorts of studies showing bagless vacuums expose you to tons of allergens and the dirt you removed from your home when you empty them and change/clean the filters. My mother still has an Oreck from 1976 that still runs like new. I have a dog who is severely allergic to dustmites and I vacuum 1 to 2 times a day due to living in a home that removing the carpet isn't feasible. This vacuum has kept up with my "overuse" and hasn't let me down the 4 years I have had it. The canister vac is perfect for hard wood floors, furniture, and anything you need a hose to suck up.
