    Primary use:

This device works as promised but if you are planning on needing more than the one wireless sensor included, order 2 devices at the sale price since the sensors are [$]/each. Wireless range doesn't seem to be that good, and the display is hard to decipher -- with no instructions to help. The backlighting is worthless.

Additional remote transmitters are not available. If yours breaks or is misplaced or if you simply have another location you can only buy a whole new unit This defeats its best feature...knowing tempratures elsewhere

We have had this product for at least 5 years and it has been a vital part of our household! The kids just knocked it off of the table it has been on and it has finally met its demise... so I am purchasing my 2nd unit to replace the original! It really has been an integral part of our household for many years! We all look at it to determine how we should dress prior to leaving the house! I'm soooo excited that they still make the same unit after all of these years!

I received this item as a gift and I am delighted with it! The design is sleek and clear making it very easy to use and configure. Readings are very accurate. Only downside to this item is that the manual is seriously lacking descriptions of all the readouts the base unit provides. For setting up the unit the manual is good but for additional information regarding it, the manual is very lacking.

I purchased this for a gift and also one for myself, and am returning the gift before giving it. Outdoor sensor information comes and goes on inside base, sometimes for hours, while sensor is only about 10' away outside the house. Instructions come with no pictures and very minimal information.

I love this thing! It has always worked well, except....I moved to the desert and News Flash! It doesn't tolerate desert summers: The transmitter burned out when the temperature got to about 120. Total bummer.
I'm looking at getting a new transmitter and just bringing it in during June, July, and August. I'll nail a meat thermometer to the side of my house instead! :=(

This purchase replaced a 6 year old WeatherSmart that quit giving good info: all data displayed on old unit was not actual by large (10+ or - degree, example), with degree of severity random.

    sleek and cool
By Wrecks from raleigh, nc on 10/20/2007
    Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Easy Controls, Lightweight
    Best Uses:
    Home
    Describe Yourself:
    Tech Savvy
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had no problem understanding the manual. The manual is short and concise. It measures temp, humidity, and barometric pressure. In addition, it can calculate and display heat index. The base unit can handle up to 3 remote sensors. The remote sensors are water resistant and have sensors with extra wire so that the sensor can be placed into water or soil. I would recommend this unit to a friend.

    Wish displays were clearly defined.
By Garison from Marlboro, NJ on 7/29/2007
    Pros:

    Best Uses:
    Home, Office
    Describe Yourself:

    Bottom Line:

I returned item. The manual was lacking good instructions and illustrations. Didn't clearly define the information the weather station was displaying.
