This is a nice log rack and can hold all the wood most people would need. I bought this for out at my ranch to keep snakes out of the log pile. It sits fairly high off the ground and appears to be doing its job. It can be hard to find level ground for something as wide as this unit it, but this was not a problem once the weight of the wood was added on. Overall, this is easy to assemble, looks nice, and does what it should. It appears to be weathering just fine for now too, but I've only had it out about a month now.

I burn 5 cords of wood a winter. I have several
of these steel racks for storing and seasoning
the wood. The smaller racks are great for kindling, the larger ones for logs. I usually stack the wood several feet higher than the racks, with racks adjacent lengthwise to keep the wood from falling off. The racks are sturdy enough to do this. They are also easy to move when empty and easily disassembled if needed.
I bought large racks from Brookstone two years
ago and a small rack this year. Brookstone's price is competitive. There also seems to be a newer version on the market, but I like this
version the best; please do not phase it out!
I wish that one could order the end pieces separately, so that the large racks could be turned into two small ones if one wished, or in the likely event a piece gets broken.

The rack is easy to put together and does exactly what it's designed to do. I wanted something to keep firewood off the ground and a little more organized.
My only reservation is that this simple design could have been much more affordable. However, it was the only metal rack of its kind that I could find and I can't complain too much since I knew the price when I ordered it.

stores lots of fire wood
Overall the design is good, however unless you have the rack on either a cement pad or patio as shown in picture don't bother buying. It has tipped on me 3 times in 2 months. Not a big deal to restack the wood, but defeats the purpose of keeping wood dry when it falls over and gets covered in snow. After third time falling over, I finally had to go out a purchase 6 large pavers to keep this from happening in the future.

Our woodpile is a long way from our house, so we were bringing one wheelbarrow of wood in at a time, which would usually last for 2 fires. After we got the rack, we can bring lots of wood in and store it in the garage for lots of fires!

I got tired of my wood being on the ground so that when I brought it in the house to burn I was also burning grass or mud. Now that is no longer true and with the cover the wood stays dry. It also helps the I don't have to bend to the ground to get the woood.

Holds medium to large pieces of wood, small or skinny pieces fall through and should be stacked on top. Would be nice if it had a middle piece to seperate the two ends.

The Firewood Rack is best used on a hard surface like an asphalt driveway. If placed on an earth surface the Rack has a tendency to fall over if one of the leg mounts sinks into the wet ground after a rainstorm.
