This replaces a Sony alarm clock/phone that quite working (the phone). This is used at my bedside, where I need a phone and an alarm clock. There are very few combinations like this available and most are not that attractive or are too big. This alarm/phone is perfect size, looks great, and has numerous features, especially the smart set function. I would definetely recommend this to anyone needing a combination phone and alarm clock

It is nice to have an alarm clock/telephone combo because it takes up less room on the nightstand next to our bed. I wish the telephone were cordless, however, as this is the only telephone in our bedroom. It is a nice compact unit and the black color coordinates with all decors. Radio reception is tricky as antenna is inside the cord, so cord must be placed "just so" in order to pick up a clear signal, and if it is not placed correctly there is a lot of static in the radio reception. I agree with others that the display is too bright (even on low) at night---lights up the whole room with a blue glow. If you cannot get the caller ID to work on your unit, call the manufacturer and they will walk you through a procedure of button-pushing that makes the caller ID work beautifully. All in all, I like this unit, but again, I wish it was a cordless telephone headset, and that would make it an outstanding purchase for the price.

I pretty much liked everything about the clock. The display the setting the size and lite feature were great. The on/off alarm buttons would have been easier if they had been placed on top or in front. Caller ID could have been a little larger for nite vision, but that doesn't matter now. The caller ID went out completely two weeks after the 90 day warranty expired. [$] I guess I could have purchased the extented warranty for one year for [$]or two years for[$]but I have a real problem paying additional money to have a [$]alarm phone replaced in under two years. For that price it should continue to work for at least 5 years.

I wanted a clock/radio/phone combo that would allow me the caller ID without the need of reading glasses. This item does it all, semi well.
The many control buttons are spread all over the face of this clock radio. I dislike the design and I almost returned the unit because of it. I wonder if the designers ever considered that the consumers reach for the snooze bar in their sleep, with their eyes shut? The "alarm off" buttons are within a quarter of an inch of the snooze bar! You could so easily shut off the alarm thinking it was the snooze bar.
I decided to try the clock, and I do like it. The clock is easy to read with an attractive blue. The radio has weak reception, the dial numbers are too close together, stations almost blur together, but it is working O.K. for me. The phone is great, illuminated buttons for easy dialing at night. I do wish the caller ID was bigger and darker. I hoped to read it without reading glasses, and I can, it is just a struggle.
I would buy this clock/phone again, I just wish all features on this unit could be as good as seperate components.

We are so pleased to have found this product. We have had several phone/clock/radios and although they worked ok, they were never great. THIS one IS!
1)Very stylish, nice design.
2)Smart set feature a great addition.
3)LARGE size numbers on clock for older or nearsighted people.
4)Vibrant display in blue. We did not think it was too bright. Now we can actually read the clock from the bed in the middle of the night.
5)Buttons easy to figure out how to work and several features are nice to have, although we did not necessarily need them all.
6)We like that the phone cord can be exchanged for a longer one if we desire.
7)The only drawback we noted was the buzzer alarm is not all that loud and cannot be made louder as can the radio.
Overall, TERRIFIC product for the price. Emerson Research (manufacturer) is to be commended.

I use this alarm clock/corded phone to free up space on my nightstand. We lose power often, so having it reset itself each time is really nice (I wish all the clocks in my house did that). I also love that there are two alarms and you can program what days you want it to sound. I no longer have to worry about forgetting to turn it on after the weekend. As others have mentioned, the display is really bright, even on the dimmest setting. It doesn't really bother me though (makes for a nice nightlight). I had one issue upon setting it up. I could not get it to work or reset itself. I changed the button cell battery that came with it(a tough one to find)and that solved the problem. You will also need a 9v battery. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it to others!

We were looking for a bedside clock/alarm/phone combo that was easy to read and had good radio reception. A corded phone was preferred in case a power outage rendered the cordfree phones useless. The Smartset phone has filled all requirements. The only minor complaint is that the number dial is almost to bright even at it's lowest setting.

This is the only all-in-one product I could find to replace our old similar product. It definately reduces clutter in the bedroom - you get a phone, clock, and radio all in one. My main complaint with this unit is how bright it is. Even with the clock set on the dimmer mode it puts so much light into our bedroom it is like having a nightlight on in the room. I have to cover the clock with a pillow if I'm trying to fall asleep facing the clock. The phone is ok - our old model had the hang up button on the handset (it is on the clock unit on this model) and I preferred that configuration. The automatic reset feature (what makes it a smart clock) is definately an excellent feature. I'm considering additional smart clocks in other rooms of my house. We had a power outage last week and it was very nice having the auto reset. Unfortunately I live in a state that does not go on daylight savings - it is my understanding the clock will automatically reset anyway and I'll have to change my time zone (so I'll be Mtn zone part of the year and then Pacific zone part of the year). I really like the two alarms feature (which can be used one for weekdays, another for weekends; or to set alarms for people who wake up at two different times). It looks like the other smart phones glow orange instead of blue - if you do not need a phone you might consider one of those models instead. Overall I recommend this product if a person is aware of how bright it is.

The time display is large and highly visible from anywhere in the room. The caller ID display is also much easier to read than others I've used. It is also easy to clear its memory. The radio is hard to set, of poor quality and basically unnecessary. I would eliminate it and either lower the cost of the unit or upgrade the quality of other functions.

My husband actually uses this on his side of the bed. It is very nice that it resets itself with time and alarm wake up when there is a power outage. However, I must say that it has been very difficult getting use to how bright it is at night. I have never had such a bright clock before. The only other comment I have heard from him as far as the function of the clock is - he does not feel that there is a good reception when the radio is playing. We love the look and the functionality of the telephone, clock radio. It would be nice if you could work out the kinks of the VERY bright light!

This phone takes up less room on the nightstand and serves as alarm clock and radio. The dual alarm and the space savings are the reason I wanted this. This clock can be set to alarm only on the weekdays and with a different setting on weekends. With two alarms you can set them for two different people or set one for one time and the other for a few minutes later, to make sure you wake up.

I love this product because it has everything all in one....two alarm settings, radio or alarm to wake to, telephone attached, and I love the blue indicator on the time light - you can adjust the brightness, but it is perfect for someone like me who wears glasses...I can see the time during the middle of the night without having to put them on to see it. Oh yeah - the time sets itself, so all you have to do literally is just plug it in.

I love being able to see the clock from across the room even without my contacts. It would be nice if it dimmed down a little more. I could be a night light.

This is a replacement for the exact same unit my window-washer destroyed. It is a WONDERFUL product. I love that the time sets itself automatically (after power outages, change of daylight savings time, etc.) Just plug it in and forget it! The time display is large and readable, and the day of the week indicators are a nice plus! I Highly Recommend this product!

Living in an apartment notorious for blowing fuses, I find the auto time set feature fabulous. Also great is not having to re-set the alarm settings. The alarm buzzer, however, is not loud enough to wake someone in a good sleep. I have to use the radio (set at highest volume) for waking up. [...]
