Only lights up when I need it to. DOn't like bright lights in the room while sleeping. Atomic clock is failsafe.
Love the size and accuracy. When it went beserk I had to reset it to get the correct time. It gave me an arbitrary alarm time. Since I lost the manual it took a lot of trial and error to figure out how to set the alarm again...not readily obvious. To make things even harder the buttons on my clock have to be pressed in with a pointed object like a pen. It is difficult to press a button, turn the clock around to see what it did and then turn it back to make the next choice. Once set it works great.

Once you find the location in your home to receieve the satellite signal, this clock takes care of itself. Use it to set all your other clocks accurately.

Even though this is a bit big for travel, you can't beat the easy to read display and the atomic feature to keep it to the second.

I purchased this as a gift for my nephew for obtaining his Masters Degree. He'll be doing a lot of traveling with his career choice, and the features on this clock should really come in handy. It is a nice looking clock, compact, and my nephew said it has everything on it that he needs. Love the fact that it synchronizes itself to the U.S. atomic clocks.

I bought this as a travel clock for my husband at Christmas but after getting it I realized it was too big for easy packing and the atomic clock was only good in the US. It sets on our bathroom counter now and is nice for that.

I actually never took the clock out of it's box. I should have read it's dimensions because it's picture is deceiving. It's smaller than what I am looking for so I returned it.

It was purchased as a travel clock, which we will use for that reason. I also like the fact that it doesn't "tick" like some alarm clocks do.

My husband has this clock in Iraq that he uses everyday. It has survived sandstorms, heavy wind, and being jammed into tight duffle bags. Great clock, especially for the money. Great quality.

IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF [...] WOULD REDESIGNTHE BIG DIGIT CLOCK, SO THAT YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TOTOUCH THE LCD DISPLAY AT NIGHT TO TURN ON THE LIGHT. [...] MIGHT BE ABLE TO DESIGN THE BIG DIGIT CLOCK WITH AN ELECTRIC EYE TO SENSE WHEN IT IS DARK AND THE SENSOR SHOULD TRIGER THE LIGHT TOILUMENATE. I PERSONALLY AFTER BUYING APPROXAMETLYA DOZEN OF THESE CLOCKS, THINK THAT IT IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, BUT IT CAN BE IMPROVED BY ELEMINATING HAVING TO TOUCH THE LCD SCREEN , TO LIGHT UP. IT SHOULD HAVE A SENSOR TO ILUMINATE THE BIG DIGIT CLOCK TO LIGHT IT UP WHEN IT'S DARK IN THE ROOM. OTHERWISE THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING EXCELLENT PRODUCT THAT I WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND TO THE PEOPLE I KNOW. I WOULD ALWAYS BUY MORE OF THEM AS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE.

It is not obvious how to change the alarm settings. The instructional booklet tells you how to do this, but without the booklet information, it is trial and error, and frustrating.

I use this clock while I'm traveling and it works great. It set's itself so all I have to do is get is out, set the time zone and set it on a table! The rest is taken care of!

The clock is easy to read and reliable. However, it is heavy for a travel clock and the battery cover falls off while it's in my bag. The buttons for setting the time are tiny (microscopic) and more suited to a child's hand than an adult's. It is also easy to push, by mistake, the one that resets the whole thing. Main problem is that it is too big. Wish it was about 75% of its current size.

The snooze would be better if it would be every 5 minutes until the user turns it off.
I bought this for travel only, but love it so much that i use it all the time! Friends love it too!
I had this alarm clock's last version (mine didn't set itself atomically, it needed to be programmed manually) and I loved it. It somehow just got lost in a move and I'm ordering a new one. The alarm is the right volume. Touching anywhere on the screen activates the backlight, and/or the snooze button so it's easy to use in the dark when you're half asleep. The temperature option is great too.

The only disturbing issue is that this clock is terrible when it comes to setting the alarm. The tiny buttons on the back of the clock make it near impossible to press.
