We have a lot of thunderstorms that cause the electricity to go off. This clock resets itself and has back up batteries. I always know the time and I'm not constantly resetting it, plus the time is always correct.

I have bought four of these for the house and about to order another for home and a couple for the office. Our power fails once a month during the thunderstorm season - the instant reset solves this problem. More important, our kids keep cutting the margin for getting to school on time closer and closer. This is the ultimate alarm clock! To begin with, it is compact, so that it doesn't take up too much room on your night table. The numbers are large and easy to read, and they can be dimmed or brightened. This clock has every feature you need -- from a snooze alarm to dual alarms that each can be preset for just weekdays, every day of the week or just weekends. There is a light that warns of a low battery, and 1 of 7 lights indicates the day of the week. The alarm sound is a series of beeps that are not jarring, but are loud enough to wake you. One of the best features of the clock is that it automatically displays the correct time and restores the alarm setting when it is plugged in or back in use after a power outage. I got to test that feature just a few hours ago, when my electricity went out because of a storm. As soon as the electricity was restored, my clock displayed the correct time. My wife & I need clocks on both sides of the bed. These fit in well with our decor. We like the SmartSet feature as opposed to our old clocks which relied on dry cells during current failure. We are retired and have ot tried the alarm feature--perhaps someday we will.

This clock is in a little-used guest room. I like that I don't have to check to see that it is set to the right time, regardless of power failures, daylight saving time, or months of being unplugged since the last guest needed the outlet for something else.

I love the concept of these clocks (I have purchased two)but I have found that they don't seem to keep the "exact" time. One continuously sets itself for three minutes fast, and the other is setting itself for a minute fast. Don't get me wrong, I can live with that...it's just a bit annoying!

My husband had trouble setting our old alarm clock and seeing it in the dark. This clock sets the time itself and the alarm is very easy to set. I was excited to see that it set the time as soon as you plugged it in and was accurate. I love this clock and have told others about it.

The only thing wrong with this clock is the alarm. There is no radio or optional sounds. It's just a steady beeping noise. And the button to turn off the alarm is at the back of the clock and difficult to turn off quickly.

It's great that you don't have to worry about setting the clock. Just plug it in and within minutes it sets itself. You don't have to worry about resetting it when we switch back and forth at Daylight Savings Time. And if there is a power outage it will reset itself as soon as power is restored.

I bought this without realizing it doesn't have a radio in it. The only thing you can wake up to is an extremely jarring, loud beeping noise. While I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, all the options get confusing, so we woke up to an alarm on Saturday morning even though I intended to not have an alarm on the weekends. I'm going to have to find a new alarm clock with a radio function (much calmer to wake to) and fewer functions.

it's really not that exciting...bought an alarm clock for my husband for christmas...he liked it because it's easy to ready & he didn't have to fuss setting it. i've heard they're a pain regarding setting around day-light-savings? we'll have to wait & see?!

You have to unplug the unit if it storms and that defeats the purpose of the unit. We get short power outages from storms and I thought it would keep us from setting it every time the power was interrupted.

I use the alarm function everyday. It is nice not to have to set it every night for the next morning. The dual alarm function is great for weekends. I think the volume could be a little louder, but other than that, it is a great clock!

I really like the weekday/weekend feature, where we don't have to remember to turn off the alarm on weekends! Our old alarm went off frequently at 5:30am on Saturday.
This new unit does remember settings when power is restored after an outage, but if the power is still out at your chosen alarm time, it's not going to wake you up until the power comes back on! So it's not 100% reliable in that regard, although at least when power is restored it remembers that it missed an alarm, and goes off immediately.
It appears to have built-in, unchangeable rules per when daylight savings starts/stops. If Congress changes the rules again (or you're in one of the rare areas that doesn't honor DST), then it's a real pain to work around... you have to manually set it up to FOUR times per year. Hopefully Congress will leave the current DST rules alone, so that its auto settings will continue to work properly.
Overall pretty nice, though.

This is a great clock -- no worries if the power goes out, ability to set two different alarm times, alarm sound not too loud. I was only disappointed in the fact that the "dimmer" is only hi/lo -- I was hoping it was a real dimmer with the ability to go from highest to nothing. But still, it's not too bright. Great buy for the money.

This alarm clock is the bomb! You never have to set it and the time always matches up with my cell phone (which is my time "authority" for my life.) The dim feature on the display is nice and the alarm isn't too annoying in the morning but still wakes you up. I don't know why someone would travel with this but I guess you could. The best part is the dual alarm modes. Mine is set to NOT go off on the weekends but if I wanted it to I could set it to a separate weekend time. I was uneasy about the price but I have now bought them as presents for a couple friends and wouldn't think twice to replace mine if something destroyed it. (4 years going and so far no destruction or problems)

Like the title says, I'm on my third. The LED lights actually quit so that an 8 looks like a 9 ! Three times now ! Other than the fact that the clock is WAY TOO BRIGHT (must face it away at night), I love the 'never re-set' feature; a new twist though: since it's not an atomic-clock and has a pre-set chip, when they change the weekend for daylight savings (10/28-11/04) like last week, the chip is WRONG and therefor you must manually re-set. Atomic clocks are definitely the way to go...

I have had it about 1 year, and during time changes, power outages, it has always come back for me with the correct time! It's great having the choice of 2 alarms time & on which days. I'm buying each of my daughters one, so they don't have to reset thier clock every night or remember to set it on Sunday nights before school.
Great clock, I have the blue LED version. Not sure why they changed it to this orange.Can't adjust the alarm volume. They need to add that feature and, on the radio version of this clock, they need to make the LED readout the same size as this one... it's too small on the radio version.[...]the clock is perfectly accurate and if it always shows exactly one minute off then you need to adjust it via the instructions in the manual, [...] It will save your edited value even if you unplug it.
I love not having to set this clock every time the power goes out, but I have two clocks in one room and they are four minutes apart in time. Also, they don't change automatically with the new DST (very inconvenient).

this clock is awesome. I never have to set it and it is a simple plug and go. It also shows days of the week and the time is pretty accurate (about 20 seconds of difference vs. the U.S Atomic clocks)
the only two things that can be annoying is the unattractive design and the internal battery mechanism. If they can make the changing of the internal battery a bit easier and with more warning and make the clock a bit more attractive, the clock would get a 10 in my book
