There are so many buttons and confusing if you just want to hit snooze. The snooze alarm seems to turn off with movement in front of it. Need to read the instructions about that one. It has great sound for a little machine, but way too many buttons!

    Features:
Dual alarm for week and weekend, CD player (plays ripped music pretty well), good sound, keeps time well even when the power goes out. The sensor for snooze really works-it is so cool.
Only minor drawback is that the unit is fairly large and bulky.

This 'hefty' CD radio has lots of buttons that make it look challenging. Just looked at the instructions once & realized that this 'tech savvy' senior (lady) could handle it easily. Nice to use it in a family area to show it off.
Could have used AUX. jack, but then again, I'm not into adding speakers or MP3 player...yet.

U plug it in and it does the rest. I just set my alarms and my stations. I bought it because the power keeps going out at my home randomly and I hate having to reset everything. Plus, if the power goes out at night, the alarm doesn't go off in the morning. This is the solution to all my problems!!!

This clock raido has a lot going for itself but I don't think its worth the money. Sound is loud but has a muffled sound like its a radio inside a box. There are a lot of buttons on the top which makes this product overly complicated to do such a simple job. One of the larger buttons on top is to set the time zone which you do once! Why even have that button? The unit is very large compared to competitor clock radios and takes up a lot of space. The most annoying aspect is that even on the dim setting you have to put something in front of the display because its so bright. So you end up spending a hundred dollars to make things more difficult instead of pleasant. On the plus side the sensor snooze is nice. I did not experience the problems others have had on it being too sensitive. The dials are smooth and have a nice feel. This product has potential, but it ended up just too complicated and caused more problems than solved. I returned mine.

We're now glad our clock radio died, because we ended up with this one, and we love it. It's attractive, and it's fun to relax with music before going to sleep. There is a sensor that sets the snooze alarm based on movement, but it's too sensitive. If I roll over, it's activated. So, we stuck a little black dot over the sensor, and all is fine.

The unit is a great unit for most reasons. Love the fact that you plug it in and it sets itself and even after a power failure will do it again, and that it can be set for the different time zones in the country as well.It has incredible sound to it, better with a CD, but the radio is very good and clear. I even like that one person can wake to the radio and one can wake at a different time and use the CD if they want. I like the snooze feature that you only have to wave your hand in front of it to get some extra time.
The biggest difficulties, are that the alarm is a little hard to set. Personally, I find the numbers a little too bright even on the dimmest setting. You certainly would not want to take this on a trip due to the size. Also, I found that there is no earphone jack - which there should be, in case someone wants to stay up later listening or wake up earlier and listen. It would also be good, if there was a complete model that that has the AM/FM/CD and also the phone on it. It would make it much easier.
All in all, it is a great product. We got rid of two clocks and have more space and the sound is better then many stereo systems that I have heard and is really good in helping to set that special mood at times.

I bought the smartset for reliability. The dual battery backup is excellent in that area, the atomic time sync is a total failure though.

I have an atomic sync watch, my computer is set to time sync with an atomic clock source, and my cell phone regularly sets its time off of network time. All three of those are within 1 second of each other, all the time, with no maintenance from me. I've had this smartset clock plugged in for 24 hours, and it is still several minutes off. I used the manual adjust feature to bring it to the correct time and make it useable, but the seconds are still way off, which tells me that it is NOT actually syncing with any atomic clock.

Save your money and buy a nice CD-player alarm clock without the atomic feature. This one is not reliable.

Auto Snooze Sensor Alarm Too Sensitive!
By Disappointed from Bethesda, Maryand on 11/19/2007

    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nice Unit. Good sound. A bit too large, but nice design. (With all that space, could have included pre-set radio buttons, though.) Fatal flaw seems to be that the auto snooze sensor is too senstive. Almost anything turns it off and, therefore, I can't rely on it to wake me up, (goes into snooze to easily). At first I thought it was a defect with the CD player, but now I'm sure it is the auto snooze sensor being activiated by any movement in the room, (ceiling fan, dog, reaching toward unit to adjust volume, etc.) Too bad, I like the unit, but will have to return it. The large snooze button on top would have been enough. If I could deactivate the auto snooze feature would keep the unit.

I like the instant, always correct time feature

    Needs a remote control!!!

The wake-up feature is accurate BUT infrared 'off' control is activated after 2 seconds by movement from ceiling fan-BAD.. Infrared snooze feature is activated from 6 feet away-BAD.. No easy-off of alarm/radio after activated. MUST actually hit the 'off' button on top of radio... I was hoping for an easy-to-use clock radio/cd player and was disappointed. I probably should have returned it for a refund but had thrown out the box...

Just plug it in and you're set! I love the snooze function where you only wave your hand over the front and off it goes. I've never slept through the alarm that gradually gets louder, you can also wake with radio or your favorite cd. Dimming the bright blue night helps for people who are light sensitive when they sleep. The sound quality of the CD player is awesome.
