I purchased this because I needed to raise my tv up a few inches for better viewing. I put the component shelf and turntable together in about 8 to 10 minutes. After putting the upconvert VCR/DVD in the componenet space and the TV on the turntable top, I realized that it not only raised the tv up to a more comfortable viewing height, but it blended quite well with the rest of the entertainment center. Now, everything looks oranized and the tv looks like it is "floating" in the entertainment unit.

We had bought a new flat panel TV and did not have a place for the cable box and DVD player. Also the TV was a little to low. This has worked great to lift the TV to a better viewing level and helped to have the components in an attractive casing and convenient location. Would recommend to others!!! The only down fall was that when I ordered it I did not realize that the turntable and DVD kit were separate so had to wait for two different shipments. Not too bad. We are happy with our purchase.

I could not mount my new 40" flat sceen tv on a wall because of the old construction in my house. I wanted a simple arrangement that would hold my cable/dvr box under the tv, all of which I wanted to put on an antique marble top table. If you add it to an existing turntable, make sure the turntable you have is made by Sanus. It will not attach to another brand.

When I first ordered this product, I looked at the picture and thought it came as a whole unit with the turntable. The "fine print" said otherwise. This is not an unattractive piece, but I am not real impressed with how it looks. It is functional and solid.

I needed a shelf so the Dish receiver & the TV could occupy the same space. The swivel would not have been useful for me, but this little shelf is a perfect size and is reasonably unobtrusive.

I love the design and the way it's easy to put together. BUT, no where did I read that it is an incomplete unit and REQUIRES the turntable to act as the top shelf to make this a usable unit. [...] To add insult to injury, when I unwrapped the shelf (nicely packaged by the way) a very large area of the front and corner surface was covered in a yucky yellow dried-on substance that I suspect may be some kind of glue. It's very difficult to remove and it left discolored markings all over the black surface. I assume this is rare, but it sure made for a very negative experience for me.

THe photo and description seems like it is all one piece except for the swival stand...well you cannot use this withouth the other piece which really brings the price for the 2 pieces too high. I was so disappointed that it was not as pictured and now I have to spend another [$] or return the top part.
