Loved the talking Grill Alert. It quit, then I went to Brookstone Catalog and found a replacement for the Probe. I ordered, it arrived in only a couple of days, hooked it up and the Grill Alert was like new again. Then I bought one for my daughter and she is very happy to have her Grill Alert back working and talking!
Mostly on the grill, but have tried using the oven before. This may have lead to the probe not working properly. Cleaning the probe is also a challenge.

Best thing invented for grilling. Keeps me from overcooking foods. Probe can be damaged if fire flares up.

We use the grill alert every time we cook any kind of meat or poultry both in the oven and on the bbq. You can't go wrong with this. We've given many as gifts(with rave reviews) and love it ourselves. As I say, you simply can't go wrong with this product because you are prompted when entree is nearly ready as well as when it's ready. Kudos to Brookstone!

I was amazed that the first probe stopped working after carefully using it less than a half dozen times. [...] Brookstone seems to have figured out what the problem was because the connection between the wire and the probe (where it broke) is now much heftier looking. Hopefully it will last longer than the first one.

This is a replacement probe. The old one got wet and shorted out. I think this one is a better design... Only time will tell

This device deserves a five star award and is great in all respects except for probe failures that occur at the probe to braided cable interface requiring frequent replacement. Fix this problem and I would recommend this to everyone and I am sure they would find it as indispensible as I do.

The replacement probe works way better than the original that came with the grill alert monitor. The probe has worked great and washes up much better.

Bought the Grill Alert one yr ago, used 5times/wk on average. LOVE it! Due to continual use, tho', the probe, because of its kinky wiring, stopped relaying the temps to the base unit. Simple solution: the replacement probe! Now I'm back in business, grilling my family's favorites! Fool-proof barbeque!
