I loved the idea of this product because I LOVE pictures and carry "regular" pictures in my purse. I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day and one for me! I haven't given it to my mom yet and probably won't. I've used it for the past 2 weeks and have learned some things that I don't really like and may end up bringing mine back as well. First of all, it stinks that you MUST download the pictures IN THE ORDER that you want them viewed on the Picturebook (which I didn't know or do and now it won't change it after the fact, I've tried EVERYTHING!) and you can't pick the picture you want to show, you have to scroll through all the pictures to get to a specific one. Also, there is about a 4-5 second wait for this as well, so it kind of takes a long time. I didn't realize that you need to resize the pictures in order to get the full 500 photos. I'm learning alot as I go. Like I said, the idea is GREAT, but it needs some fine tuning in my opinion. I would love it to scroll faster and if I just wanted to show a specific picture to someone, to not have to scroll through 100 other pictures first! I would recommend this product, but I would warn them of these things first.
We are giving this to Gramma for her Birthday. Then, she will always have updated photos in her purse and keep her electronically up to date with her photos.
I am a new grandmom and I wanted to show off my family, but didn't want to take along alot of photos. This product is perfect and fits into my small purse. Love it.
Excellent display. However, distant shots are not displayed nearly as well as close-ups,
I love it! I throw it in my bag and I have all my favorite pics anytime I want them. Great & portable way to show pics of the ones you love!
The one thing that I don't like about this product is that it doesn't have a slot that fits my media card. That's the only thing that I dislike about this. Otherwise it would be perfect.
I bought this for my wife to use to carry with her in lieu of photos of the grandchildren. Works great, especially for her, she's not real techy. I has four albums to organize photos in, wish it had a couple more. No bid deal, its a great gift idea.
We bought this for my mom for Christmas. We had tried other digital frames, but this one is easy to use and she can carry it with her! She absolutely loved it and is showing digital pictures of her grandson (my son) to all her family and friends.
Great for both family phots and for art work display
Lightweight enough to carry in your purse, it's easy to pull out and show your favorite photos at a moment's notice.
I have 3 grandchildren and enjoy sharing their pictures plus we had a wedding during the holidays this product was perfect to show off my pictures.
Iwas so excited to have a portable digital fram, and it has a great picture when you get it reset, but doesn't represent itself too well when you want to show a friend pix and it has to be reset.
I would recommend this product with reservations.
Had to reset unit in order for computer to recognize it but once that was done, loading pictures on it were extremely easy. I loaded about 50 pictures and used only a fraction of the memory.
I bought this for my mother for Christmas. She LOVES it...and she's not just saying that! I know because she had created all 4 of her photo albums (that's how many are in the device). I did have to buy her a little carrying case for it, because the top flap kept opening up in her purse, so we wanted to protect the screen.
I gave this to my mother she caries it everywhere and loves to show off all her pictures. Now her friends don't have to squint at a little digital camara
It isn't the greatest simply because it is so expensive and there are other photo frames that do the same thing. However, I like that it is battery operated.
We use it mainly for pictures of our 3 month old grandson. We can update it easily as he grows older.
Its a little heavy for my wifes purse. But we still love it.
This was so easy to get photos onto with the card and drag and drop from the PC. The only negative I could find was the price.
I got this as a Christmas gift and I love it! It offers me a way to have recent photos of my infant daughter on hand at all times without carrying a photo album or individual photos which can be damaged with repeated handling. The picture quality is better than any other portable unit I have seen, but not 100%- but they are plenty clear for friends and family to view my photos. WHen downloading from a memory card, it is much easier- if you download pictures from your computer directly, you must use your own photo editing software to resize them first- this process is automatic from a memory card. I am very pleased with this unit!
This was a gift to my wife. She loaded pictures of our granddaughter and pets. The slide show function is the one she like the most. It fits in her purse, and is so easy to use. It takes up so little space compared to carrying alot of pictures.
Keep updated pictures of family
Easy to use
Great to show pictures when we travel.
Surprised on how easy it was to use
Super easy to use... and manage pictures.
This is a nice product; over-priced at [$] (30% the price of a 26" HDTV ... for a still photo viewer?).The images look good when displayed in landscape orientation. But if you look at it with the long dimension vertical, there is a weird 3-D stereo effect due to each eye seeing the LCD from a different angle, thus getting different lighting of the same pixel. So you want to look at the pictures in landscape mode, or with only one eye when holding it portrait-style.Editing pictures externally helps them look good. I used Photoshop Elements 3 (on my Mac), cropping to the 4:3 or 3:4 aspect ratio, then saving "for web", specifying 640x480 pixels, then saving with "medium" quality. There is apparently such a thing as too much information for this unit, since if you save the picture with "high quality", it actually looks worse. You get color artifacts and bleeding. This goes away and the pictures look great when saved at a lower quality. Plus, the result is a smaller picture file. Done this way, what starts out as an 2 MB picture on the computer ends up as a 19-50 KB image file on this device -- and looks correct.Apparently the unit has to make decisions what to do with extra information and doesn't always make the right call. Saved at "high quality", everyone in the family photo developed purple ghost ears off to the left, when the image was transferred to the unit. Saved at medium quality, the file was half the size and looked exactly like the original. No ghost ears.Note that the "high quality" save image did not develop purple ears until after it was transferred to this unit. The image file seems to be modified during transfer. Copy the file back to the computer and the purple ghost ears remain.Once you know what has to be done, you can prepare and transfer a photo in about 30 seconds - no problem. For Mac users, the sw others have complained about isn't relevant; you just drag and drop like any external USB storage device. The animated "album" menu along the side is a bit much. To switch to another album you have to press two buttons and wait 4 seconds while the menu sliiides in and sliiiides out. Instantaneous display would be better. Once you press an album button, that should be it. There is no need for ANY menu when not assigning photos loading from a card.I wonder about battery life ... other portable electronic units with Lithium-ion batteries recharge for ~3 years, then start to die out. There doesn't seem to be anyway to change the battery n this unit so I wonder what happens when it no longer holds a charge.Still, I'm satisfied with the unit because it displays nice images, which is the major issue.
This product works great if pictures are on a memory card from your camera. I read reviews about issues if you transferred from your computer but still wanted it. I have the VISTA OS and you do not use or install software from CD supplied. It takes some time to have computer recognize this drive, or it did mine. I had picture photo software already on this computer, but found just using send to or copy and paste worked better for me. Yes it may have taken more space but between 4 memory cards with pictures and what I added from the computer I filled up four albums with what I wanted to take to a retirement party. Very good pictures and easy to use. In the future I will try and use just the memory cards my camera to load. Neat product!
I got this as a christmas present last year and absolutely love it! I'm am totally technologically illerate and I can still use it! It's soooo simple and actually shows a great picture! I have no idea how to resize my pictures, nor do I know what megapixels are, but I do know that I have a ton of pictures saved to it and all I did was insert my memory card and pressed save! I have been shopping around to try to find a digital photo album for someone this year and have decided that the others have no comparison! The prices are awful and don't seem as easy to use. I will definately be buying this one!
This is a wonderful device! The picture is definitely clear enough, but it could be better.
At 3.5 inches the picture size is a liitle small, but it is easy to carry in your shirt pocket..
I purchased this product for my wife. She loves being able to take it to work to show her friends pictures of the grandkids and trips we have been on. It takes a little time to resize the pictures but is well worth it. Great product!!!
I love this portable album. I have had it for about six months and have not needed to charge the battery yet. It is convenient to pull out and share pictures with friends and family.
Jason - take you 1.8 megapixel photo files and open in your photo editor, resize the photo file to 0.2-0.3 megapixels and save to a new file name. Then your wife can have 200-300 photos. There are less than 80,000 total pixels on the viewer so the photo on the viewer will still be sharp and they will also load much quicker.

Works well.

I was a little disappointed to find out that this device only has 64 MB of memory. While the device can hold a bunch of pictures, I don't want to manually resize every picture before loading them onto the device. I think that a piece of software that could be used for data transfer would have been extremely helpful. While I am very tech savvy, my wife is not. And asking her to edit all of the pictures that she wants to put on this frame to an appropriate size would not happen. Using our 6 megapixel camera, the average size of a photo is about 1.8MB, that means that we'll only realistically get about 30-40 pictures on the frame.

My Picturebook was a Christmas present from my younger daughter and her husband. I used to print out photos they sent via e-mail and carried them in my purse to show to friends. This product is absolutely incredible. I can keep my family photos updated with a few minutes work and everyone who has seen it has been amazed at the convenient size and the clarity of the photos. Most had not seen anything like it. A great alternative to a "Grandma's Brag Book" because it holds so many more photos. The albums allow me to separate the photos by: Daughter #1, Daughter #2, Other family photos, scenery (one daughter travels overseas). The ULTIMATE present for a Grandma!!! Thank you so much!!!
Immediate reaction was "oh no, not another frame" but............... this is just fantastic. Can easily transfer photos from camera to the album, pop it in my bag and carry it around without any fuss. Perfect for showing off my handsome nephew. Would be a great present for those who are not technically minded to share their pictures with family and friends. Would make a lovely gifts for grandparents. Go on.... buy one
Absolutely delighted
