This seems better then a camera attachment I have tryed. It seems a little faster on the transfering of slides. Wish it came with a better manual, too small type. Also a better photo editing software, and more info on brighting and darking of slides for better prints to be made. Also if there were Positive slide holders available for purchase, it would help speed up the process by having two people working on the project.

I am thrilled. My dad passed away a few years ago and all his old family photos were on 35 mm slides. Not likely I'll be setting up his old projector to see these, but now I can see them and make CDs for family members. I am absolutely delighted! Best thing I've found in years at Brookstone. THANK YOU!!!!!!

I am reviewing slides made in the 1950s and 1960s that are not easily observed because 35mm slide projectors are no longer in vogue. We do not sit down as a group to review the slides; however, individually we might review the slides on our computers if they are digitized. This product makes it happen!

Bought this for my 82-year-old dad, so he could scan in old slides. He got it working on his own, although he did point out the mechanism for the slides is rather difficult and fragile. He needed my help to figure out where the scanned in slides were on his computer, which I got by googling the model number and looking through the manual.

Simple to set-up and use. While the editing program is very good, would recommend a slide cleaner (e.g. compressed air and brush) to get surface dust off of slide/negative before scanning for great initial clarity.

This gadget will save my vast collection of slides and film that date back over 60 years, My results have been better than expected because my photos had always been protected from dust, etc. Surprisingly, if they were good quality when exposed, the get transferred with good quality.

The Mfr's instructions fall short of its capabilities. They told me to keep the scanner unplugged when not in use to prolong the life of the bulb inside. Also, opening the slots is easy once you do the first one correctly -- starting at the middle and then doing the sides.

I have transferred slides and both color and B&W film, editing them without any difficulty.

This provides a reasonable means to store them in a digital manner and then make them clean and crisp and easy to show to family. I have some slides that are over 50 years old and this method allows me to make them look like new and make everyone young again.

Had 1700 slides that were quickly fading. This brought them into My Pictures very easily but I had a difficult time trying to copy them onto a DVD. Sure could have used some instructions. I also had to uninstall the software and install it again everytime I turned on the program - don't know whether it was me or the program, but overall it was quite easy for a novice like me to do!!!!

This is a great little product to get all those old slides organized on the computer. One of the down sides to this machine is it would be nice to have more than one slide tray so you could have more than one set of 3 slides ready to scan. The slide tray is made of plastic and is difficult to open and close. Also, I was under the impression this was a motorized unit but you have to manually "push" the slide tray through the scanner. Overall, it is a nice tool to have but could use some improvement

Getting started can be a little tricky. Beware of making duplicates! I found the transfer not the same quality as the slide itself. Using Paint Shop or other editor tools helps. This can be extremely time consuming when you are transferring hundreds of slides! Be careful when using the cleaning tool. I scratched the lens without any effort. I recommend transferring in the highest quality catagory with every slide. I will recommend this product to capture lost memories but, don't expect exact duplication.

I was delighted to find such a useful product. I have seen scanners that will produce pictures from negatives, but the simplicity and user-friendliness of this product has been a lifesaver. Simply inserting a negative slide, pushing a button, and saving a photograph on the computer is awesome! I've pulled out my drawer full of negatives and have found pictures I forgot existed. They are wonderful to be able to transfer immediately to a digital photo frame.

The only minor flaw is, it's not obvious when the scan of a slide is complete. For some scans, I've been able to watch as the image builds in the preview window and others are so fast that I cannot identify the end point. Otherwise, a wonderful product that meets my needs.

Having been born in the 50's, most of the pictures made of me in my younger years were slides. This device has enabled me to capture a digital file from each slide to make prints, enhance, publish, etc. Having these memories is priceless, since there are very few prints of my early years. It is very easy to use.

I am so happy I am able to preserve all my families slides dating back to 1957. The slide tray only holds 3 slides at a time making it somewhat time consuming. It would be nice to have two trays to use of each (slide and negative). It took me awhile to figure out how to work the computer program but my slides are coming out looking like the picture was just taken.

i wish they made a universal scanner like this one that would work on larger sizes.Great product and would highly recommend.

This is the only unit I have seen to do slides to PC. I got it from Brookstone because they said it worked with Vista. It does but Vista is of course awful.
I found that doing the slides was very intuitive and not hard to do. Uploading was a problem and took 45 sec per slide.
I do admit I think that it is a Vist issue. I have gone back to XP and expect that it will be fine there.
