    Good for at home use

Very good value for home use. Should be considered for moderate fitness training or as a supplement to free-weights. Also, it's not too heavy to relocate and easily store.

I was concerned that at its cost ([$]) it would be made of thin/cheap material that would snap/break during my workouts and/or that the rods would snap/break under stress- WRONG! It is really constructed of heavy gauge material that stays put while I workout. I get a really nice "burn" from my workouts. Best of all I never have to leave my home to do it. I can workout when I feel like it. 0200 in the AM in my underwear with the cat watching it is all good. Plus if the weather is cold/wet outside I can still get a workout and not talk my way out of it just because the weather is poor. Great item at any price.

Great for the money - needs instructions
By karizonaVerified Reviewer from Tucson, AZ on 1/14/2008
    Pros:
    good workout
    Cons:
    Limited uses, No exercise chart

    Bottom Line:

Easy to set up and use. It would help to have a chart of exercises to get the best use out of the equipment. Otherwise, it's so handy to just hop on and get in a workout without having to drive to the gym.

My husband loved this Christmas gift! He's not looking to become a body-builder, but just wants to get into better shape. This piece of equipment is perfect - it's versatile, affordable, and just what he needed. Plus, we're expecting our first baby in a few months, so I look forward to using it while on maternity leave with the baby!

I use this product at home. I work out each day for about 20-30 minutes. Flex Gym delivers quick results as far as I can see.

    Pros:
    - Durable
    - Comfortable to use
    - Compact (takes up little space)

    Cons:
    - Straps that come with it will probably break soon because there is friction between the straps and the metal.
    - No instructional DVD was provided with the machine.

This product works great. Comfortable and an affordable choice instead of the Bow-Flex. It needs a user manual to let you know what exercises you can do with this product.

    Good Enough for Upper Body
By SilvioVerified Purchaser from Los Angeles, CA on 11/19/2007
    Pros:
Excellent for Upper Body, Very easy to set up
    Cons:
Limited leg work out, No Exercise Manual
    Best Uses:
    Good for a quick workout
    Describe Yourself:
    Stay in Shape
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I like this machine. Excellent for a quick upper body work out. Leg work out is limited to may be two different routines but no a big deal. It would have been nice to get a poster with different exercises. Where do we get replacement parts if something breaks?

    My husband loves this gym!
By CGoodloe from Clovis, CA on 11/1/2007
    Pros:
Great Workout, Multiple functions, Physically Challenging
    Cons:
Lack of Leg challenges, No Manual for Exercises
    Best Uses:
    Getting Into Shape
    Describe Yourself:
    Health Conscious, Practical
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a compact system that fits into our small space. My only huge complaint is that there was no manual to show what exercises you can do on this thing. For a beginner, the manual is a must have item. The only document we got was the setup/build instructions.

Also, the leg portion is a waste of space since it can't be used to do much as the belts don't stretch so you don't really get much leg work done on the thing but for upper body and abs, it's awesome.

This machine is a piece of junk!!!
By In shape MindiVerified Reviewer from Scottsdale, AZ on 10/22/2007
    Pros:
    It fits in my closet
    Cons:
No assembly instructions, No usage instructions, The main pole bent
    Best Uses:
    Getting Into Shape
    Describe Yourself:
Health Conscious, High End Shopper, Into Fitness
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This product is terrible. It took forever to put it together and we still can't figure out how to exercise the lower body with it. It should come with a video to show how to use. The material that it is made from is inferior and already the main post needs to be replaced as it bent during use.

    Quickly outgrown...
By DWYutzyVerified Reviewer from Hilliard, OH on 10/22/2007
    Pros:
    Price it right
    Cons:
    Quickly obsolete
    Best Uses:
    Just starting out
    Describe Yourself:
Health Conscious, Out of Shape, Practical
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I found the price right for this product, but once I got started using it, the weight settings seemed rather limited and the other configuration options for the different exercises quickly felt limited.
