This is a nice, solid piece of furniture. I marveled as I put it together at how well it was made. I love the little hidden cubby at top. A very nice entryway bench that is functional as well.

My grandson and I assembled this one - the previous reviewer is right in saying the diagrams could be a bit bigger - but very easy once you know what they mean. After assembly it's a quality piece of furniture. Nobody believes that we assembled it because it's so perfect and rich looking. [...]

good value, little difficult to assemble. good quality item. I use it to organize outdoor shoes. I put next to sliding door to back yard.
[...] Assembly was fairly easy, although the diagrams could be larger and the prose more exact regarding the placement of the dowels. The only point at which I needed someone to help steady something was when attaching the lid to the rest. And I'm a non-carpenter fifty-plus female! It was done in under an hour. It is heavy, but as long as it's sturdy, that's fine.This item has replaced two beaten-up items in my living room -- a wobbly "shoe shelf" and a long-despised magazine rack, and also serves as an end table. Since I don't need a lot of shoe storage beside the door, one shelf is fine. Good value! I'll certainly shop here again.
