There are pros and cons. Overall this makes my face pretty smooth and non-irritated, but, I have to go over some spots several times...and it still might miss super tough spots. The manual says to give the shaver a month, so your face adapts and this seems right on.

This product works extremely well, had no problems. Nice shave and very quiet. would reccomend to all.

to use the cleaning devise, i have to unplug and plug back in to reset the buttons. it would seem that one should not have to do that.

After you unpack this unit you'll look at what a great looking item this is. Great weight and balance, no cheap plastic junk here. [...]this Panasonic ES8228S Vortex™ is just drop dead elegant. It's a Champagne color with Woodgrain and gold trim and matching cleaning unit that's truly compact in size. You'll definately leave this out with NO guff from the wife. When you first USE this shaver you'll instantly sense how much quieter it is over a Braun or even a quiet Norelco. Second you'll notice how FAST these blades are moving. The Norelco or Braun feel like 3rd class lously motors once you use this. Virtually NO vibration since it's perfectly balanced. Thus it is an incredibly close shave. I'm convinced sometimes it's closer than a Mach 3 or Quattro blade! The contour of holding this thing is also a real pleasure. Actually makes me want to shave. Can be used wet or dry. I always use it dry and many times put on a PreShave from Mennen (NOT WILLIAMS PreElectric Shave). Frankly, I've never seen a closer shave just because it's wet and is cutting through shave cream. Simply phenomenal.
