No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This product is much too difficult to set up. It took nearly 3 hours to program all of my equipment into it, and still half of the programs didn't work to my liking. If all of my equipment had not been Sony, I would have understood that it would take some time to set up, however, all of my electronics are Sony, and it should have been a very simple set up.
