At first I thought it to bulky but then realized the grooves were very handy to shape my nails. The cleaner at the end is very useful also..it's very gentle and very easy to get used to using this different nail file. It should last a very long time also. I keep it by my couch to use daily for touch-ups. I plan on taking it on vacation too. I won't use anything else now that I have found this one. I plan on getting a few for presents as well. My sisters will love it.

It feels more like an emery board than a classic metal nail file--you only have to use light pressure, and not press down like you do with a regular metal nail file. It also makes as much noise as an emery board--a plus if you or a family member hate rasping noises. But this doesn't wear down, unlike an emery board.

There are two sides to the file--one with a coarser grain, one with a smoother grain. Each side has a groove, which is nice if you're agressively filing down your nails, and the flared edges give you a lot of control when you're fine-tuning the shape of your nails.

The cuticle pusher is a nice touch.

I like mine so much I'm buying one for my mom.
