My wife monitors my snoring. She reports that it is improved by about 50-70%. I am fairly sure that I snore for multiple reasons including this one. Allergy is another... and so taking Benedril or whatever helps further. I am fairly convinced that this was a 1st order cause with perhaps 2 other additive causes thrown in... no wonder this is so hard to beat. However, it at least partially convinced me that surgery on my throat was not going to address the issue.

Finally, I often find myself cheating with this product (not on purpose) by lying on my back in the middle of the pillow. I usually get a good kick for that !

Easy to disguise on a "made" bed with pillow shams.
A very tall person is unable to put arm under Sona because the bed (a queen) is not long enough to accomodate this, but the snoring was still reduced.

After reading several reviews of this product I bought it. I snore regularly, but don't have apnea. After years of light sleep, or waking myself up with my own snoring, and trying a variety of throat sprays, not much worked. When I first tried the pillow, it was hard for me to get used to, because I normally slept on my back (the reason why I snored in the first place). But after a while I got used to it and got a really good night's sleep within a week. After over a month, it feels normal, and I'm sleeping like I haven't in years. My wife is happier, now that she doesn't have to "prod" me to roll over.

Best Pillow Ever, Snoring is gone!
By MojoVerified Purchaser from Chicago, IL on 4/14/2008
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this pillow after seeing the advertisements and reading the reviews on here. I used to use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, but after a recent sleep study, my neurologist told me that it was so mild I no longer needed the machine. This was great news, however, my husband has been losing sleep due to my snoring for a number of years. I have been told that I snore very loud and all night long.

As others have said, there is a break-in period for this pillow. It was a bit uncomfortable the first few nights but my husband and I were both amazed when I woke up that first morning and he said I didn't snore at all.

The one thing I dislike about it is that my arms fall asleep depending on which arm goes under the pillow. It usually wakes me up and I will just switch to the other side. However, this is a small price to pay for a night of restful sleep. I have felt more refreshed in the mornings since I started using it. It is a bit pricey for a pillow but it is well worth it.

Pregnant wife sleeping better

I'm 6 months pregnant and have come to the stage where I am no longer sleeping comfortably. As a result, I was having a very difficult time falling back to sleep once awakened because of my husbands snoring. In 4 years, this had never been an issue - I was able to sleep right through it. Many nights, I just chose to sleep on the couch. In a desperate attempt for some good sleep, I purchased this for my husband and the first night, slept wonderfully! Low and behold, the second night of sleep was even better. He says he is sleeping well, too, so we are both happy campers. The snoring has been cut down to almost nothing!! My husband says this pillow saved our marriage!!

Pros:

For it to work right you do have to sleep with your arm under the pillow and somewhat more above the head than I am used to. As long as you stay in that position it seems to help with snoring too. But I toss in the night and when I try to roll over on my back the pillow wakes me up--but then, that is the point of the whole thing I think. It is designed so that your head turns to the side. It is comfortable once you get used to it but it takes a few nights to get used to.

I'm not a loud snorer but my partner is a light sleeper. Not the most comfortable pillow. But it works if you stay on it. Sometimes I find myself tossing it aside. It is a little large for a full or queen size bed because you only sleep on half of the pillow and the other half takes up space between you or on the nightstand.

It is working for him he has been using the pillow for about a week now. He said he can breath better now and feels better when he gets up in the morning. He still snores BUT not as loud as it was before the pillow. To me he is even looking better in the mornings does not look as tired as he did before using the pillow. I am ordering another pillow today for me because I also have trouble sleeping and sleep apnea I hope it works for me as well.

Tried everything from breathe right strips to other "pillows" nothing worked. It's been a chronic issue for me for years and my partner was being kept up at night. Got the pillow and the first night there was no snoring. None, zero, been that way since I got it. Now if i don't fall asleep on the pillow my partner nudges me to put my head on it and immediately i'm silent. Also my neck feels better and I don't wake up as much during the night. I have no idea how it works but it's amazing.

A skeptic to anything saying "stops snoring" but I gave it a try! Gave it to my husband for Christmas 2007 and we have slept (all night) in the same bed ever since that day. A few nights a week he would take "the walk of shame" to the snore room...it has not become the guest room. We love the pillow and have recommended to many friends who have also had positive results.

Bought the Soma pillow for myself initially having been diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and unable to wear C-pap mask. Was not effective for my particular problem, but my husband uses it and it does a decent job of suppressing his snoring on most nights. Not sure why it doesn't work 100% of the time, but it has greatly reduced the incidence of my sleepless nights due to HIS snoring!

Funny shape . . . but it works!

The Sona Pillow is like wrestling with an anaconda at first. You have to find the right position for your head and shoulders. But when you get the hang of it, you fall asleep very quickly and you stay asleep for most of the night. My wife says I still snore (more softly) but I do not have the gasping episodes that wake her up. So the Sona Pillow works pretty well for both the user and the sleep mate. I have not gotten the opinion of my cats yet.

It did not take long to get used to the uncoventional design of this pillow. It really does work for me in cutting down (if not eliminating) snoring so loud that I woke myself up! I can now sleep for long periods without waking myself up.

The Soma Pillow works! Thanks to it, I sleep more peacefully, as does my husband. I'm thinking of getting him one too! It's great for side sleeping, with its cozy cut-a-ways for each of your arms to rest under the pillow. My only complaint is that it is so long that it takes up a lot of room on the bed--that's the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

Got it for my husband who was about to get kicked out of our room! As long as he is laying on this (without another pillow under it) he doesn't snore.

I use the pillow for sleep and so far, no complaints about my snoring from my Husband. Usually the man snores but he has the sleep pac machine and wanted me to get the same machine. I am trying the pillow first and with weight loss, the pillow is working.

An odd shaped pillow did not look like it would eliminate(or even reduce)my snoring or sleep apnea. But, it is so comfortable that I almost forget it is theraputic. It wasn't until I was told, by the one who sleeps next to me every night, that I have not awaken them since I received this amazing pillow. Something so simple - but it works so well. I'm amazed!

My husband's snoring had gotten worse over the past few years and sometimes kept me from getting a good night's sleep. I was also worried that he wasn't sleeping soundly because of all the times I had to nudge him to turn onto his side. But now with the Sona Pillow, he hardly ever makes even a snuffle anymore, and we both sleep like babies!

I bought this pillow two weeks ago. I found it comfortable from the first night and it has gotten more comfortable as it has worn in.

I was a very loud snorer and used to wake up in the morning with a sore throat, but since using this I have almost completely stopped snoring and I wake up feeling refreshed. In fact my wife has woken me up twice because I was too quiet.

Great product.
