I'm pretty sure I have sleep apnea but I don't want to do the sleep study and doubt I would would wear a cpap mask. My wife used to elbow me to get me to roll on my side and stop snoring. This pillow pretty much makes you lay on your side. Now we both are getting better sleep. Not 100% but still improvement for not much money or inconvenience.

Worked for me!! My snoring has reduced tremendously. My wife is very pleased and sleeps much better at night. The edges by the arm pouches are very comfortable to sleep against, although the center is much higher and stiffer, like a study pillow.

Bought the Soma pillow for myself initially having been diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and unable to wear C-pap mask. Was not effective for my particular problem, but my husband uses it and it does a decent job of suppressing his snoring on most nights. Not sure why it doesn't work 100% of the time, but it has greatly reduced the incidence of my sleepless nights due to HIS snoring!

The Sona Pillow is like wrestling with an anaconda at first. You have to find the right position for your head and shoulders. But when you get the hang of it, you fall asleep very quickly and you stay asleep for most of the night. My wife says I still snore (more softly) but I do not have the gasping episodes that wake her up. So the Sona Pillow works pretty well for both the user and the sleep mate. I have not gotten the opinion of my cats yet.

The Soma Pillow works! Thanks to it, I sleep more peacefully, as does my husband. I'm thinking of getting him one too! It's great for side sleeping, with its cozy cut-a-ways for each of your arms to rest under the pillow. My only complaint is that it is so long that it takes up a lot of room on the bed--that's the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

An odd shaped pillow did not look like it would eliminate(or even reduce)my snoring or sleep apnea. But, it is so comfortable that I almost forget it is theraputic. It wasn't until I was told, by the one who sleeps next to me every night, that I have not awaken them since I received this amazing pillow. Something so simple - but it works so well. I'm amazed!

My husband's snoring had gotten worse over the past few years and sometimes kept me from getting a good night's sleep. I bought this pillow two weeks ago. I found it comfortable from the first night and it has gotten more comfortable as it has worn in.

I was a very loud snorer and used to wake up in the morning with a sore throat, but since using this I have almost completely stopped snoring and I wake up feeling refreshed. In fact my wife has woken me up twice because I was too quiet.

Great product.

I chose to purchase the Sona pillow after reading mostly positive reviews. I have extremely mild sleep apnea, but extremely loud snoring: now my husband no longer wears earplugs to bed, and I'm waking up more refreshed. I am finding though that the pillow requires a good bit of getting used to, and I think I will need an even longer breaking in period to wake up without the stiffness in my neck and back that have also coincided with using the Sona. I also find that the pillowcase sized to fit is of a coarser thread count than I'm used to.

I purchased this for my husband, kind of on a whim. I wasn't confident that it would work, but figured might as well try it before pushing him towards surgery. I am pleasantly surprised that it does indeed work! My husband says it is not very comfortable. And if he does not position his head/neck just right there is some residual snoring, but it is no where near as loud as his snoring without this pillow. But for the most part, this pillow really does work!

This pillow came highly recommended by a family member. I was a little skeptical but decided to give it a try. It took a little bit of getting used to, but after a few nights I was sleeping very comfortably with this pillow, more so than any pillow (or pile of pillows) I have used in the past. I would not say that it is a "cure" for snoring or sleep apnea, but it certainly reduced mine so much so that, for the first time in a long time, I am waking up in the morning rested and refreshed. It is a bit expensive for a pillow, but it works and that makes it worth it to me.

It's not for everyone. I purchased this product for my husband who's snoring was getting louder than usual. After a week or so, he expressed it was the most uncomfortable pillow ever and began using it as a back support while reading in bed. He never made it throughout the entire night using the pillow. It would eventually get tossed to the floor. It did come in handy when I sprained my ankle and used it to prop my leg on. I do have a few suggestions that eventually helped my husband snore much less. We purchased the Vicks humidifier at Target [...] The air was so dry in our bedroom and I even slept so much better. And he began going to the gym more and dropped 20 pounds which helped tremendously.

I've had the Sona Pillow for about a week and have to admit that it has helped me stop snoring. However, it is incredibly uncomfortable! I think that the problem in my case is that I'm short and the pillow is just too big for me. I am generally a sound sleeper and do not wake up during the night. However now that I've been using the Sona Pillow, I wake up every hour or so from the pain and stiffness of sleeping with it (I swear that the point of most snoring remedies is to stop you from sleeping and therefore stop you from snoring). At the moment, my choice is the pillow or the couch, so I'm continuing to work with the pillow to see if we can come to an agreement.

Here's what I've learned so far:
-Sleeping with the Sona Pillow takes practice. I still got kicked out of bed the first two nights, but not since then.
-Follow the directions to put a pillow between your knees and to hug another pillow. My snoring didn't stop completely until I did that.
-Follow the directions to put you arm under the pillow. I hate sleeping this way, but it seems to be the key to making the pillow work.
-Try putting a squashy pillow under your arm that's under the Sona Pillow. That helped with some of my pain and stiffness.

If you decide to give the Sona Pillow a try, good luck. Hopefully you're experience will be comfier than mine.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas for his snoring / sleep apnea. From the first night he slept on it, he slept like a baby and I could actually sleep in the same room without ear plugs. It may take some time training yourself or the person using to use properly. He has a habit of moving or tossing and turning and goes back to snoring. As soon as he is back to the correct position, it works as intended. I have neck problems from a surgery and can't find a comfortable pillow. I have used this one to take a nap during the day a couple of times and it is wonderful. I have no pain or neck strain. I don't snore, but I am getting ready to buy one just for neck support and pain management. Pricey, but well worth it.

Worked really good when husband first used it but lost its shape after 2 weeks. Disappointed because it really worked.

It got my husband to stop snoring if he stays on his side. Sometimes I will find him on his back and in the middle, I just move him and he stops snoring. Thank you for saving my husband. He is getting a great sleep now.

You have to use as instructed. My husband tries to use it differently, and then the snoring begins. He likes to change the pillow position because he feels his neck is too upright. When used as directed, no snoring.

Didn't Stop Snoring, Though Comfortable!

Very comfortable to sleep on, but my husband says I still snore (and I'm not overweight). I wanted to try this before considering UPPP surgery, just in case it worked, but my snoring must be worse than most. And, because of its odd shape, it's hard to hide this pillow under the comforter when I make the bed. [...] it has turned out to be a comfortable, expensive pillow.

When my husband uses the pillow as it's meant to be used, it works well. He doesn't find it easy to sleep on his side with one arm over his head. Still, if he generally sleeps in that position, he doesn't snore. So it works if you can get used to how you have to sleep with it.

Actually, I am wondering whether it would work with my dog, who also snores!

I bought this as a "bowling ball" present for xmas for my fiance who can saw logs with the best of them. The present that was mostly for me but for him to use. It worked the first night. Only problem is, as he got more and more comfortable with it, he started to sleep on his back with it a little more which kind of defeats the purpose, but it is WAY better than a normal pillow. YAY I can sleep again!

The odd shape took a bit of getting used to. There was no information included with the pillow on how to use it. Had to get back into website for a picture of it being used. I use the left side until hips get sore in that position, then switch to the right. Great neck and back support and takes pressure off my sholders. I love it.
