It doesn't exactly glide across the mattress but it's amazing how much it picks up from the mattress, the sofa, the pillows... crazy.

I don’t just want to cover up all the yuck–I want to get rid of it. This vacuum lets you do that without getting messy yourself, and without releasing stuff back into your bedroom air. Plus, it’s a great value, since with just one vacuum you can clean all the beds in your home, again and again.
