Works well , but a pain to refill
By KenVerified Purchaser from North Carolina on 5/28/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable
Best Uses:
Guest Bathroom, Large Bathroom, Master Bathroom, Small Bathroom
Describe Yourself:
High Tech oriented, Stylish
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The early design dispensed too much soap. I returned my first unit and the second one works consistently and dispenses just the right amount of soap. Two flaws: can't determine the remaining amount of soap - just use mine until the soap runs out and fairly messy to refill. There are units at the same price with a much better design and more adjustability.

Cons:

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This product is way more reliable than the Sharper Image version. We were glad to see an alternative to that version. The SI versions seem to last only about two to three months before they fail (usually the sensor mechanism). This version has been in service for over five months and is still working well. The three things that I would like to see improved would be: An even lower low setting, although this product is puported to be stainless the bottom shows small signs of oxidation. I would be buying many more if they came in smaller sizes and other colors that would be more suitable for bathrooms

This one actually works!
By PaulVerified Reviewer from Naples, FL on 4/7/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Good Value
Best Uses:
Childrens Bathroom, Guest Bathroom, Kitchen counter, Large Bathroom, Master Bathroom, Small Bathroom
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This dispenser actually dispenses a useable amount of soap (even the thick kind) each and every time. Originally I thought it was dispensing too much even on the lower setting but discovered that I could control it by just removing my hand from the sensor. CAUTION! remove your hand in a downward motion when controlling the amount of soap to be dispensed or it will drip on the counter. The only con to this product is location. Find a place to put it around a sink that will not normally accidentally activate it.

Clean Countertops
By Donna the DonutVerified Reviewer from Oak Lawn, IL on 4/4/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Good Value
Cons:
Little Discoloration
Best Uses:
Kitchen, Large Bathroom
Describe Yourself:
Practical, Stylish
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The soap dispenser comes in a shiny steel finish, one that other stores do not carry. This clean design is practical and functional. It helps keep my counters clutter free and also helps promote cleanliness with the children. I would recommend this product to others.

As for the discoloration I mentioned on the cons, it occurs where the two pieces join together. I think its perhaps a little soap build up. This minor problem does not affect my recommendation as I routinely wipe it down while cleaning so it's no big deal or hassle.

It's great if your hands are dirty and you do not want to touch anything. I set the soap dispense rate at minimum. If you want less soap into your hand, you will have to move you hand downward from the motion sensor to get even less soap. I found the soap flow at the minimum setting is most generous for what I need. The viscosity of the soap may affect dispense performance. As for a bargain, I thought it was a bit pricey-a coupon or free shipping would have helped. I bought it through Brookstone's internet store which works for me! It was given as a gift because it matched the kitchen and I was behind being close to Christmas. The gift was well received by all!!

Great dispenser for soaps or lotions without the messy pumps. Nice for liquid soaps in the kitchen. Prevents unnecessary spread germs to others by having to touch conventional dispensors with dirty hands first. Can be erronenously set off if it is too close to work areas and something passes too close by the sensor. Good product overall and looks great anywhere. Highly recommended.

We bought ours for the kitchen. When you press on the top of a soap container to squirt soap, you leave what ever was on your hand on the soap container. Later, you get it on your hands when touching the container. This can be a problem, especially with raw chicken. This product helps prevent cross contamination of food.

This product is PERFECT! I had to position it so she wouldn't accidently activate it, but now it works great and my 4-yr. old uses it too!! It's stylish and doesn't make her feel like it's something just for "disabled" people. It's in our guest bathroom, so everyone uses it!

For Christmas gifts our family opened up 3 Hands Free Soap Dispensers. Two at the same time from 2 different people. At first I thought this is just a modern thing that I would not use, but I was wrong. I have it on my kitchen sink and when I am dealing with meat products I use this hands free dispenser and I don't get any meat residue on the soap dispenser. This seems very healthy to me. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that it dispenses too much soap even when it is on the lowest setting.

I do a lot of cooking and baking. And if you spend a lot of time with your hands preparing food, slicing, chopping, kneading, rolling...you spend a lot of time washing your hands. This dispenser keeps the transfer of bacteria from the raw food to the next person needing to wash their hands (which may be you). Very functional and very easy to use. I started using it in the Kitchen, but found it is extremely good for just about anywhere you need to keep clean but you do not want to pass germs to the next person.

This made a great gift for my mom for Christmas. It looks nice and you don't have to full with the mess of pumping the soap or bar soap. My mom has everything and it is hard to come up with different ideas for every event. She hates germs so this only helped in that regard.
I would definitely recommend to buy! I hope to get one soon as well.
The only con is there is a delay when first using. Not enough to not use or make a great value. Great Item!

We love this. At our old house we had the soap dispenser that fits under the sink with the push lever above. This house doesn't have that and I miss it. Without remodeling the kitchen, I am able to have soap easily and conveniently. I don't have the issue of the oversensitive dispenser, and it dispenses the exact amount as far as I'm concerned.

Love It!

I have a daycare and I will be getting another one for the bathroom. Right now I have it in the kitchen. The kids can wash without spreading germs. Liquid comes out a little to much so I will fill it with a creme soap next.

I keep the soap dispenser on my bathroom sink at the moment. It needs to be at the sink on the bar in my den but I use the bathroom sink more. I seriously need another one. This thing is awesome! I wish everything was motion activated.

I received this as a gift and ABSOLUTELY love this. It is stylish, matches my kitchen PERFECTLY, which has stainless steel appliances. Even for those that don't have stainless steel appliances, it is beautiful. I use it for my dish soap and can leave it on the counter without worrying about it being ugly.

Great idea, but too much of a good thing
By MomMomVerified Reviewer from Amherst, NY on 12/26/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design
Cons:
Too much at a time, Too sensitive
Best Uses:
Bedroom, Master Bathroom, workshop
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It is a great idea, but too sensitive, get too close and plop!. May be good for hand lotion where you can always use the extra. Thought it would be good for grandchildren, but never let them try -- knew they would make a mess.
