When you MUST use a propane tank instead of natural gas or charcoal, this little gem is worth its weight in gold! We decided to fry turkey's this year instead of the traditional "all day in the oven" method. Can you imagine running out of propane in the middle of frying your turkey? Well, with this little gizmo, that can NOT happen! With three different outdoor temperature grids (cold, colder, coldest) it accurately keeps you informed of how much propane is in the tank. If you think it's hard finding a grocery store open on a holiday, good luck trying to find a propane seller who's open for business! No worries with this guage! The gauge successfully measures the amount of propane left in the tank, but does not allow gas to pass through. As a result, it must be removed to use the grill.

I hooked up the guage with ease to a full propane tank. Grilled regularly and was hoping that the new guage would let me know when I was getting low instead of always having to pick up the tank and shake it around. However, after having the guage reading Green for months, all of a sudden tonight, I walk out to three racks of ribs that had been cooking for 15 minutes, were cooling off. The guage still was reading Green. Never even worked. Its worthless and a waste of $$$. Do not buy!!!!!

Above all, I don't want to run out of gas unexpectedly. I figured I'd leave the grill burners closed, then open the propane cylinder valve, and squint at the meter - which has always been green on all bands.Then I read the manual... and it's really much more complicated than that!Scan the operating manual on this site and see if you've been doing it right or not!http://bit.ly/GYK5ZrNevertheless, this gadget is a great idea for any backyard gas grill... though imperfect, it's the only game in town, short of weighing your tank repeatedly!
