Comments about Proform 320 SPX Indoor Exercise Bike:

This bike is too large for most users, even at the lowest/most-forward settings. In fact, in anything but the most rearward position of the seat relative to the handlebars, the rider is forced into an awkward position, with the axis of the pedals behind the seat -- not comfortable, and not even close to replicating an actual road bike. As to frame height, even at the seat's lowest setting, neither my wife nor I can achieve a proper fit.

Some background on us... My wife is a highly-experienced cyclist. She has thousands and thousands of miles under her belt, as well as numerous century rides and a 600-miler. She has hundreds and hundreds of hours on spin bikes of multiple makes and models. I have less cycling experience than her, but have a good number of miles under my belt, as well. We are not novices who purchased a spin bike on a lark, and we know something of the proper fit and adjustment of a road bike and a spin bike. My wife is 5'4" tall, and I am 5'7".

Nowhere on Proform's web site or in the product literature are there specifications for the frame size. There is nothing anywhere along the lines of frame sizing as used with actual bikes. The closest thing you can find to a size specification is a statement that it accommodates UP TO 250 pounds of weight. Prior to ordering and receiving the bike, there was no way for us -- or anyone else -- to ascertain that the 320 SPX is too large for our use.

Another problem we found with the bike is that it appears to have a bent axle. The parts diagram shows a straight axle, which causes me to think that it was intentionally bent to force a fit, due to an axle mount improperly welded to the frame. For now, the flywheel spins true; but if my suspicions are correct, and should I ever need to replace the axle, I will have a real problem on my hands. I have inquired about this with Proform, but two weeks later I have yet to receive a response.

Finally, I posted a review similar to this one on Proform's web site. The site said my review had been received, but to this day it is not reflected on the product's reviews (where no reviews are listed, at all). Makes you wonder just a bit.
