I researched quite a bit before I decided to purchase this umbrella. I was getting sick and tired of buying cheap drug store umbrellas and wasting money because they were breaking constantly. I decided to splurge a bit, I work in Washington DC and take public transportation and have to walk several blocks to get to the office. Having a reliable umbrella is a must here. Well, this umbrella fits the bill to a T. The reflective tips are an added bonus, especially for city pedestrians. I even used this umbrella in gusty conditions and the umbrella did not break. I highly recommend it and yes it is worth the extra $$ for a very good umbrella.
