Great little Helicopter, this is one of three Brookstone helicopters I own and I quickly discovered that my Dog loves each of them. As soon as I pick up the remote she runs around the house barking and chasing the helicopter. Over the last year she has mastered jumping and snatching the helicopter out of mid flight. The first one I owned was the cloud force which wasn't bad but was not the easiest or most stable to fly but had better performance then this model. However, the cloud force breaks very easy. A hard landing could break something off let alone a 45lb dog jumping into the air and biting it. The Phantom does not suffer from this problem. My dog has used this Heli as a chew two for three months now and it has just finally bit the dust due to puncture wounds in the battery and the circuit board. Over the past three months every part; the blades, the tail, the wheels, the stabilizer bar, the battery and of course the shell have been bitten, bent and/or cracked and it would still fly. The entire nose has been almost severed off and yet it would still fly. The heli has needed some tweaking and straightening, I even had to free a seized bottom rotor but I haven't had to replace a single part (the wheels are gone but I don't need those). This Heli is easy enough to fly and anyone can quickly learn. The cons, this model does not hover well. Other models you can let off the right control and the unit will stay put not the case with this model, it will drift where it wants until you give the stick input. Also this model has limited forward flight likely due to the omission of the rear tail blade. Don't get me wrong it will fly forward its just that you cannot increase your forward speed as with other models.
All in all this is a great beginner that will last. Believe me if it can withstand my dog it can survive your kids. Please note though, obviously this would not survive as a chew toy my dog does drop it when told. My dogs helicopter looks as if it has come from a Godzilla movie.

First, it is fun to fly. However, it took me awhile. I'd try to fly off the floor and would immediately crash. I finally started holding it in my right hand and throttling with my left and was instantly taking off and navigating around the house. Battery life of the helicopter is terrible. Five minutes max and it runs out of juice. This would be much better with a DC charger and a larger capacity battery. Five dollars more for those components would be worth it.There is no way it is controllable to 80 feet. I tried it outside on an overcast day and would lose control at about 20 feet and the copter would take off on its own to about 50 feet high, stop, and plummet to the earth. Also impossible to fly with even a slight breeze but that's ok because it's so light. Forget flying in bright sunlight. Immediately no control. I'll have to get one with a gyro so I can hover and bank. A friend was given one from [@] that cost [$], takes off vertically, and hovers (no more left). So it can be done for a low price point. This could be sold at the same price with a DC charger. Double the battery for a little more. That would make it a 4

Comments about Phantom II RC Helicopter:
Got it as a gift and felt sorry for the buyer that this was a horrible product. It has no gyroscope so keeping a stationary hover is next to impossible. The battery life is short and doesn't warn the buyer about short battery run after being fully charged.

Comments about Phantom II RC Helicopter:
Even though this is a beginner helicopter, there is still a learning curve. It's durability will come in handy for first time pilots. If it can survive my 8 year old nephew, then it can survive anything! It's ready to fly out the box. My nephew was playing with it within minutes. Would definitely buy again.

Comments about Phantom II RC Helicopter:
I bought this to amuse myself after my brother received the fighting version (featured elsewhere on the site) as a gift. It turns out that this tiny little thing is the perfect size for my cat, who chases it like it's doused in catnip. Hilarious good fun and I only wish I had a camera to put it on youtube!
It's got a pretty good battery for the size, but in this case that means only about ten minutes of flight time per charge (max). Still, it's fun enough that I don't mind having to put it away often.

Comments about Phantom II RC Helicopter:
6 year old and I each got one for Christmas. Both learned how to fly it pretty quickly. Small enough that it can fly in the house and durable enought to take several crash landings. We are having trouble keeping the heli's and remotes seperate. They have different channels, but every once in a while there is a signal mix up and one remote operates both heli's. Limited Funciton on Con list refers to not being able to fly backwards and sometimes a fresh battery creates so much torque that it is hard to get the heli to turn when wanted. Short lived oroblem as the battery flattens out after a minute or two and full steering is restored.

Comments about Phantom II RC Helicopter:
I bought two of these helicopters for my sons. One of them worked and the second did not. If you have children you know what fun that can be. Anyway, the return/exchange policy was simple enough though it took several weeks.
That said, both helicopters work great--much easier to fly than others I've bought.
