Get on and go!
Simply press the Start button to get going. The patented Push & Pull handlebar gives you full control of the speed. To accelerate, press the handlebar forward and, once you have reached your desired rate of progress, pull it back slightly to slow down again—the sensor-based high-tech system takes care of the rest! Thanks to the intuitive mode of control, riding on your Citybug2 is an easy and highly pleasurable experience.
For Citybug, the issue of safety is of primary importance. All Citybug2 scooters are therefore equipped with two braking systems that work independently of each other. Both can be operated completely intuitively:
Push & Pull—Simply pull the handlebar to slow your Citybug2 down. The motor brake is triggered by the sensor-based controls to ensure that jerky braking and sudden braking maneuvers you are unable to handle are avoided when you want to slow down.
The second method of stopping your scooter is STEP2STOP—a robust rear-wheel brake that you can operate with your foot to cut power and immediately bring your Citybug2 to a full halt.
Green and clean.
No emissions = good for your environment! The Citybug2 produces no CO2 pollution whatsoever. With green energy from your power supply company and Citybug2’s sophisticated battery technology (which ensures maximum intervals between charging) your actual carbon footprint can become smaller every day!
No noise pollution = good for your ears! The Citybug2 is a lightweight electric vehicle that moves through the city without generating disturbing noise. Enjoy the feeling of discovering your city on the quiet.
Fold and go.
Arrived at your destination? The Citybug2 can be carried effortlessly or parked in a small space practically anywhere! Just pull the lever on the bottom side of the handlebar and fold your Citybug2 until you hear a slight click. Once folded, the Citybug2 is smaller than a folding bicycle, light enough to carry up several flights of stairs, and small enough to take with you on public transportation or even stow under a shopping cart. When you’re ready to get going, simply reverse the process and drive somewhere else!
Stop and stand.
It is a well-known fact that it is often the little things that make all the difference. You can park your Citybug2 anywhere you want, without having to look for a wall or fence to lean it against. All you have to do is release the fold lever and pull on the handlebar until the underside of the footboard comes into contact with the ground. Elegantly parked, your Citybug2 then sits there, waiting for your next ride.

My favorite purchase in years!
from San Diego, CA
- Gets me to work!!
- Commuting and getting around the neighborhood
This is the best thing I've bought since my first iPhone nearly 10 years ago. I use it every week day to get to my bus 2 miles away, save myself 25 minutes of walking, and have a lot of fun doing it.

Best electric scooter out there
from Chicago, IL
I use my CityBug2 to commute to work when the weather is nice. You push the handlebar to take off and there is a break in the rear to stop. It is very lightweight and compact. I usually store it under my desk at work because it just folds up. There are lights on the scooter which is nice because I frequently ride at dusk on my way home for work. No complaints with this scooter.
Fun, but some issues
- Fun ride
- Looks great
- Deck treads not secure
I've seen the evolution of electric scooters, having owned manyl since the year 2000. This scooter is beautiful, fun to ride, but it's not without flaws.
I've owned this one only a day (bought 2) but here is what I've found:
The charger plug, a metal shaft with pins, is housed in plastic. On one of the scooters I bought, the plastic arrived partially separated at the joined seam. It's the part you place your fingers on when you push in the metal shaft to charge. You may have to wiggle this to get the pins aligned. Often. Imagine a metal baseball bat with a plastic handle - a plastic handle made from two joined pieces of plastic. When you swing, you're putting pressure on the plastic. Over time, it's going to crack. The other one seemed fine, but I will have to charge it very carefully, to delay the cracking, which appears unavoidable over time. Maybe rubber would have been a better material to encase it in. This frequently used part should have been made more durable.
One of the scooters arrived with the smaller glued-on deck tread (above the back wheel) separated, possibly by being exposed to high temperatures in a warehouse. I get that seals separate over time, especially glued ones. But right out of the box? Disappointing. The main tread, over the exposed battery pack, also lifted up with just a finger and no effort. Having the battery pack be so vulnerable to dirt and water so easily is concerning. I checked the second scooter. The tread is also loose, but not as bad. I've decided to keep it. I will find a way to secure it myself.
A little redesigning and Bookstone would have a great product. A completely closed deck that protects the battery pack with treads that stay put is important. A redesigned charging head, possibly encased in rubber, would be advisable too.
Give me a call, guys. Would love to help you redesign it.
