I'm a Nursing student who currently works as Clinical Nurse Extern in Labor and Delivery. I work 3, 12-hour shifts weekly and at the end of a work day my lower back, calves, and feet literally burn. I leave work feeling like a truck has run me over. I had been researching massage chairs for quite some time and I even made an appointment to get a Full Body massage at a local "High End" Spa. I paid $100 for a 1 hour Swedish massage. My experience in-store with the UAstro was beyond remarkable. I had to make the purchase. My 1 hour massage at the Spa was nothing compared to the 10 minutes I spent in the UAstro. I'd recommend this chair to every working person who spends hours on their feet. It's such a pain-relieving, soothing experience after a long day of work. I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my UAstro 2 and I'm actually going to have a Massage Party for my friends and family to try it out. I'm in love and I'll be able to get a full body massage every night for the rest of my life. Thank you Brookstone and the makers of the UAstro and UAstro 2!!!

The leg rest would be better if it locked into position rather than having to hold it in place with muscles. Kind of defeats the purpose...

I thought having the convenience of a massager at home would be amazing. However, this massager only aggrivates my trigger points and dioes n I t address them. It is big, takes up a great deal of room and does not do the job. I am in the process of returning it. The so-called white glove delivery was a disaster. The delivery personnel had never delivered this chair and did not know how to put it together.

After much research,we decided on this model and glad we did. Best advice would be to take time to read and get to know each program.This is very customizable and very well thought out.My advise to anyone is to start out on the airbag setting set to the lowest intensity to get used to the airbags first because many of the massages include the airbags.Be aware when you first press the airbag massage button, change the airbag intensity to the lowest setting quickly.Same with any of the massage buttons change the intensity to lowest right away before you start to enjoy the selected massage. The intensity is the key to a prpoer setting. In the store you have no idea where it is set, the store manager listened to me and helped me customize the settings and when I got home I went through all of them and found what worked for me. I think people assume too much with out properly reading or taking the time to find what works for them. Now I like each setting for a different reason and am not afraid of using each one. It helps to raise the foot rest just a little for someone short to get full effect of wonderful foot massage. I have plantar faciitis in my right heel, this cups my heel and it is great.

When my wife and I were faced with spending about the same amount on a 10th Anniversary cruise, we stopped by Brookstone on the way to a tour office. We both tried the chair and our decision was made. Now, over a month after the cruise would have ended, we are still enjoying this wonderful chair. And better than that, my wife loves the deep tissue massage, and I prefer a softer, gentle massage that lulls me to sleep. We are so glad we did it this way. And with a little checking of credit card rates and specials, this was around $34 a month.

I held off buying this chair for years because of the cost. Now that I own it, my only regret is that I did not buy it sooner. I get occasional back pain and sometimes it becomes unbearable, but 15 minutes in the chair and I get relief without drugs. The foot massager is great also. I am paying about $165 month with zero percent financing and it is well worth it.
