I have two of these winders and love them. I wanted a winder that didn't have to sit out due to having to be plugged in. I wanted the flexibility of putting it in a safe and still work. Since this winder is battery powered it goes anywhere. Orbita guarantees the battery life for 5 years. The reason they can do this is, the motor only makes 1 revolution every 10/15 mins (you set). The remainder of the swinging motion comes from the weight of the watch and an eccentric weight. This causes the swinging action. I've been using the first one for 2 years and it's still going strong. My watches are in my armoire and I don't even hear the winders working. They are still as silent as the day I purchased them.
