The proclamation issued was for a Day of Mourning on November 25, 1963, to honor the fallen President John F. Kennedy.

The official reproduction of the front page of the New York Times headlines the events that followed President Kennedy's assassination, and is displayed in a 16 by 14 black wood wall frame. The frame includes the reproduction front page along with a Copper Lincoln Cent, a Jefferson Nickel, a Silver Roosevelt Dime, a Silver Washington Quarter and a Silver Franklin Half Dollar all minted in 1963. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
