Comments about Nespresso® Citiz Automatic Espresso Maker:
Extremely easy to set up and use. I am a daily coffee drinker, and somewhat of a coffee snob. I was a enthusiastic Keurig user since 2005, but after I had a brand new Platinum become irrevocably clogged within 2 weeks, and the replacement die almost immediately, I am done with them. So far so good with my Nespresso, though I did purchase an extended warranty just in case, especially because it is so much more expensive than any coffee maker I've purchased before.
The selection of coffee is much smaller with Nespresso, but there is a greater percentage of blends that I enjoy. The espresso tastes a LOT better, overall, also. The pods are a little more expensive than Keurig pods, but still cheaper than going out to buy lattes. It is important to only use the short shot, however. Never make a lungo shot, even with the lungo pods. If you like strong coffee, stick to the pods labeled 8 and above, or use a 1:1 ratio of milk to coffee with the lighter roasts.
The Nespresso Citiz is mostly mess-free, but when you open it after running just water through it, or to dislodge a pod, water will splash out a little. It also drips for awhile after making a shot. The drip tray does not cover the entire splash area, so I recommend placing a napkin or towel across the drip tray area and switching it out occasionally. Other than that, and wiping the dust off the machine, it doesn't need to be cleaned. It is probably a good idea to consider running vinegar through the machine every six months, however, even if you only use distilled water, which you really should only use distilled water with any coffee pod machine.
Overall I am very happy with my Nespresso.
