I am a sweaty yoga practitioner, and my profuse sweating made my old mat like a slip and slide from yesteryear. The natural rubber just feels good...i am able to keep my poses longer and engage more muscles because of the grip. The only thing is that the light green side does show some dirt and the rubber doesn't clean as easy as the fake mats. I highly recommend it, though.
