I got a Christmas gift card from my mother-in-law for Brookstone so I went into our local store not knowing what to get with my $30 card. Saw this on the shelf, plugged my iPhone into it and played a "Monsters and Men" song, was amazed at the sound. It didn't take long for this to be my choice! It recharges with a USB connection into your computer, it came fully charged right out of the box. I haven't had it long so I'm not sure how long it will last with a charge. The "pull out" cord that plugs into the phone has a small boot that covers the plug while retracted into the speaker. Nice touch! The cord is about 12 inches long when fully extended. I was a little concerned with the retraction mechanism that the cord uses to retract back into the speaker, feels like it may not hold up, but the guy behind the counter told me the speakers came with a 1 year guarantee, you can't beat that! (I'll save the receipt) I'm very happy with the Bose type sound this thing produces. The speaker "pops" up about 1 inch with a slight twist, good for carrying in a pocket or my wife's purse, she can also use this with her iPad. With the speaker in the down position its 3 inches tall. The only wish I have is that it had some sort of carrying bag to protect it, but that is not a deal breaker! Overall I am very pleased!

I like the look & the retractable cord. The sound is just ok. Not as loud as expected. The sound also has a buffering sound if you are sitting at the same level as the speaker, like sitting at and on a desk. I would have returned it but didn't wan to deal with the hassle. Works fine listening to music while working in the kitchen.

I gave this to my sister while she was in the hospital, so she could watch movies on her ipad. The volume coming out of the ipad is pretty low and all the machines in the hospital really drown it out. With this mini speaker we were able to really hear the movie! Awesome little speaker!

For its small size, this speaker packs a lot of great sound! You can put the volume up all the way both on the speaker and your audio device, and the sound will not crack like with other speakers. You can also put the volume very low and the quality is not affected. Plus, this speaker has 11 hours of playtime, so you don't have to worry about running out of a charge so much. It's also great to carry on-the-go. The sound is not loud enough to start a huge party, but it's great for a little get-together.

Havent used the item but customer service has been poor. They sent me 2 of the items when only one was ordered and charged my credit card twice. I have tried to contact them to just ask them to discount the second one just like the first because I dont have time to send it back ~ no response in over 2 weeks!! REsent request today
