Great little device, charges quickly from the mains or laptop, and then can charge up my phone. Whilst it doesn't add to the charge on my ipad, I did use one on an 8 hour flight, and the charge level in the ipad didn't go down, so effectively added 8 hours!
Only bad thing is the cable that comes with it (a bit shoddy) but I replaced that with a standard short usb-micro-usb cable, and bought a couple of converter tips off ebay for my ipad and iphone.
Now it works with everything.

This thing is great! It'll charge my iPhone 4S from 0% to 100% almost as fast as a wall charger. And then I have a little left over for a 10-25% refresh. It gets warm during recharge, but that's normal and frankly kind of impressive.
The only problem is the mini USB tip adapter. I'm talking about the really small one. I have trouble with it charging Android devices. It doesn't seem to seat will in the charging port and can knock loose. I had to get a new cable and everything worked fine.
Please keep in mind this is for phone batteries. It will not charge a tablet, even a 7". It'll do a good job at holding the tablet at a charge, but it will not add charge more than 1% per half hour or so.

Butt Beware of the price, they start at $50.00.

I bought this item for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, as he'd had trouble keeping his iPhone charged throughout the day and that made it difficult for us to stay in touch. This has alleviated our problem, that is, if he'd only quit letting his friends charge their phones off of his charger! He tells them all that we got it at Brookstone!

Handy little gizmo to keep in my purse. Was taxiing kids around all day and talking with clients at the same time, phone battery died while waiting at doctor office and plugged it right into the charger and had a full charge in one hour! Bought one for my dad for Christmas. He is literally one of those people who has everything. I could tell he was impressed with idea. Two thumbs up!

I just purchased this item and gave a try today and it worked great. My iPhone is always running low with a full day at kids activities. They don't put outlets near the bleachers that I'm sitting on most weekends. This will give me the opportunity to charge my phone up without access to an outlet or my car charger. The charger was quick to charge up itself and then it charged up my phone just as fast.
