I set it up and couldn't find a star or anything although I was sighted right at it it wouldn't focus for me but in it's defence it is the very first telescope I've ever had but do wish I'd have purchased a much better one.I am contemplating sending it back like now. Also one of the screw to tighen the scope to the base was stripped from the get go so it won't tighten up.

Bought this as a gift, per reviews, for my 8 year-old grandson. He was thrilled, even helped his grandfather put it together. He and his Dad have viewed the night sky and we all looked at the super moon! Being eight, he tends to forget that the earth is moving as he sets the viewing lens but otherwise has loved it. Very happy with telescope, and do recommend it for beginning astronomers.
This was a Christmas gift for my 11-year old grandaughter who is studying the universe. She excitedly too the package to her room, assembled it and proceeded to spend the next several hours in her room peering out at God's creation! It just doesn't get any better than this!!

East set up. Quality tripod with steel tubes legs with metal turn table. Very smooth turning of scope. Very satisfied with quality of product. Once your ready, download the google sky map on your Android phone to find and locate stars, planets and constellations. It works great with perfect detail of what your looking at.
