Any astronomer will tell you that light gathering — not power — is what matters. A small, crisp image is better than a large hazy one. Meade’s 1.25" diameter eye-pieces provide wider fields of view, allowing you to see more of the sky at greater magnifications. Serious astronomers for years have flocked to Meade telescopes for their premium quality optical systems and patented technology. Consumers know that "Meade Optics Inside” means that what they see through our telescopes will be views that are detailed, crisp and full of contrast. Look through a Meade this evening and see what you've been missing.

High power telescopes can be difficult to point due to their narrow field of view. Our red-dot viewfinder eliminates this problem allowing easy acquisition of guide stars while star-hopping between celestial targets

Due to the Earth's rotation, at modest power, Celestial objects can move across the field of view in under 30 seconds. You will quickly appreciate how easy the ultra-precise slow-motion controls make it follow the sky's rapid motion. This offers a far more enjoyable experience for the observer.

AutoStar Suite™ Astronomer Edition Software on DVD + Instructional Videohelps you learn the night sky. It displays more than 10,000 celestial objects including planets, stars, galaxies and nebulas. You can print out star charts and even plan your observing sessions.
