I wanted a good outdoor thermometer that is easy to read from a distance. This thermometer is perfect. I placed it in a location that can be seen from multiple rooms (some more than 30 feet away) and I can easily read the thermometer from all of them. The thermometer has been completely buried in snow and after it melted was still functioning fine, great thing since I live at about 8700 feet in elevation and snowstorms are frequent. Time will tell how well it holds up to the elements, but so far, no complaints.
