I was in an accident in 2006 where I did serious damage to my back. In 2008 I had back surgery where the damage was to be fixed and pins and rods put in. In 2010 I had more sugery to remove the hardware. I still have back problems and was told that was it. I saw the Koala hug back support and thought I would give it a try. I stand in one place for 8 to 10 hours a day for my job as a postal worker. After using this for 4 days I saw much improvement. I now wear it every day to work and most of the pressure and pain is gone in my back. It is not a cure, as once I take it off the pain and stiffness are still there but this made working more tolerable. I am glad I purchased this item and would recommend to anyone with back pain.

I admit that it did feel that it helped with lower back pain when I used it. I did find that the band curved in before I did, which was uncomfortable. My boyfriend is an average size guy and he had the same issue. The metal curls in and that isn't pleasant. I can't imagine wearing this for longer than 15 minutes.

This amazing little device allows me to stand and walk much longer than I can without it. Have had 2 spine surgeries and am quite limited, but I've come to rely on this hugger to extend my activity level and duration.
An excellent design. My only problem is that the front blue pieces come off sometimes. But mine is used every day. It even makes sitting more comfortable, but is awkward in some chairs.
I am very grateful for this elegant back solution.

I will say the device looks cool, not that I would wear it out and about as they advertise. Beyond looks though I feel it failed in it's purpose. If the Koala had stronger metal perhaps it would provide the much support needed. I found the effect of wearing the "belt" decent at best and wanting more force pushing into the lumbar area. I am an average 6' tall-180 pound man and it did not give enough support in my opinion. Definitely room for improvement and for [$] I feel it is not worth it.

I purchased this today since I suffer from chronic back pain. I tried it on at the store and immediately felt the difference. It was expensive, but I used an in-store coupon. I have been wearing it for half of the day and already noticed some issues. While the hug does offer lumbar support, which does make a huge difference, the side pads, which rest on your waist, does cause some irritation when worn for prolonged periods. Also, when sitting in a car seat, the hug is somewhat uncomfortable, since you are pressed against the seat and the lumbar pad presses against your back. Also, the clips do not adequately keep the flexible metal belt in place. It moves around even with the clips engaged. Overall though, this seems like a good product. When simply standing, I do feel support and my back pain is diminished. I am looking forward to wearing the hug tomorrow to see how it works at my job. It is a bit bulky, and people may look at you funny if you have to lift your shirt to adjust it. It looks like some futuristic garter belt.

I'm HAPPY to endorse this product. I have suffered with back pain and ailments since I was 10 years old (for 48 years). I have frequented chiropractors on a weekly basis for acute relief and have used them religiously for maintenance on a monthly/bi-monthly basis. I use cold and heat packs daily and also workout, walk and swim. Compared to the average person, I'm very knowledgeable about the spine and its health.

I saw this HUG at Brookstone and put it on and then continued shopping. I was immediately impressed with the relief of stress and fatigue I felt in my spine and hips. As I continued shopping I forgot I had it on when a salesperson asked me how I liked it. I told him how happy I was and he joked and said well, you're going to be even happier when you wear it correctly!! :) lol :) I didn't realize it was misplaced. Now here's the kicker...once he adjusted it (and it was a small adjustment) I felt an immediate rush to my head...the same rush I experience after a full and complete chiropractic adjustment. I'M NOT KIDDING!! I thought it was just a fluke but as I continued my shopping I started 'giggling' inside because I was feeling quite euphoric!!! When the salesperson inquired again, I just said, "This is better than drugs":):)

Ok, seriously is this going to cure you, I don't think so; is this going to put chiropractors and doctors out of business, probably not BUT here's what I can attest to: I LOVE this thing...(it's the first thing I reach for when I wake up instead of a heating pad)...I'm still a little stiff in the mornings BUT for the first time in 48 years I wake up without any back pain... ALSO, after being up for just 15 minutes this morning I bent over to pick something up off the floor...GASP!...before the HUG, that NEVER would have happened for at least 2 hours.

My whole body feels stronger (in an athletic way) not just my back, I love how I feel wearing it...I DO feel hugged!! Who doesn't want to be hugged? My friend asked me if I thought it might be 'psychological' and my reply was, "I don't know AND I don't care."

I don't leave reviews/testimonials unless I'm really impressed with a product...I'M REALLY IMPRESSED.
