This device addresses a common question everyone has - What is the weather outside? Well, I don't need to open the door anymore to find out and I also don't have to turn on the weather channel. The display on this thermometer is visible ten feet or so away, so I'm able to keep in on a bookshelf in my family room near a window and still read it from the couch. Also, the remote temperature probe has a long lead that permits me to route the wires in a way that keeps my family from looking like a wired mess.
The trickiest part about this product is finding a location in the house that has a shared interior/exterior wall and is conveniently located for viewing. The temperature probe should also be placed in a location that is not in direct sunlight to avoid inaccurate temperature readings.
In the end, this product has proven to be reliable and accurate and I'm quite pleased with the purchase. I would recommend it to anyone that likes to know whether or not to wear a jacket without going outside to check.

This thermometer is very inconsistent with accurate reads. The indoor temperature reads are fine, but most importantly, the outdoor ones are not. Sometimes it is really only 70 or so and it will read in the 90s! I do not even have the sensor in the open or in the sun; it is under the window ledge in the shade!

I exchanged the first one because it was inaccurate - the second one is the same. The indoor temperature was approx 3 degrees too low. The outdoor was always too high - at least 1-2 degrees.
If it had a way to re-calibrate it I would have tried.

Worked well for awhile but then the outside temp went array. Shows 120 F in 35 degree weather. Inside still ok though. A bit of a hastle with the wire getting to a nearby window. Don't believe I would buy another.
