I went to [...] to look for a good quality ipod dock plus alarm clock. I looked through about 20 different ipod dock, and Finally decided to buy this one. This dock has a superior sound quality which is comparable to a 400 bucks bose stereo system. And the function of alarm clock is considerate and can satisfy our daily use perfectly. Anyway, I like it very much!

Subject: Disappointment
We recently, (10/16/12), purchased two of your Cube Clock Radios to replace two, the time display on which had become unreadable.
I believe there are several fatal flaws in the design of this product:
1. The volume at which the radio comes on in its alarm mode appears to be uncontrollable. I preset the volume at level 10 and when it comes on the volume starts low and builds to a level in excess of 20. I have to respond quickly to turn the volume down so as not to disturb my wife who normally arises after I do.
2. A momentary power loss resets all the radio functions. When the power fails the time resets to 12:PM, both alarms resets to 6:AM, the alarm device is reset to the buzzer mode, the radio resets to the AM band, and the preset stations are forgotten. (Try remembering all that if you wake up at 3:AM and notice a weird time on the clock!)
3. Early on Unit #1 awakened me to a crescendo of the morning news and as I quickly tried to reduce the volume the control failed to function properly. As I turned the control it alternately lowered then raised the volume and it took me several seconds of ear splitting sound to figure out how to turn it off! I subsequently exchanged Unit #2 for Unit #1. Unit #1 is now located where the alarm function is seldom used. Thus that problem is moot.
4. The control buttons located on the top of the radio are practically illegible and are located such that hitting the correct one can be problematic. This has the potentil effect of causing the units to do strange things when next they are turned on, e.g., missing the Power Button and hitting the Radio Mode button or the Aux Mode Button will cause frustration when next the unit is switched on.
5. The display cannot be seen if looking at the unit from below. Our bed is lower than the shelf on which the radio is located and in order to read the time I have had to raise the back of the radio about an inch. I have a hard time believing I am the only one who has had this issue.
6. The Instruction Booklet, Pg.14 discusses, "Using the Sleep Functions". It does not mention that the radio must first be turned on with the Power button before the Sleep Function can be activated. This is a small point but on other clock radios I have had the sleep button turned the radio on for a preset length of time, usually an hour.
The Cube Clock Radios have been a serious disappointment. The only positive comments I have are that the sound of the radios are good and the legibility of the time displays, (when not viewed from below!), are also quite good. However, considering its faults, I can't imagine that this product can do anything for you but besmirch your reputation for quality products. I would strongly suggest that you consider removing it form your catalog!

Comments about iDesign® Cube Alarm Clock Radio for iPod® and iPhone® Devices:
This alarm clock is wonderful! You can set the alarm to either your ipod, radio, or beeper. There are also 2 different alarms you can set, so you're not confined to just one time. The interface is easy to use and understand. The alarm buttons literally pop up so you know when the alarm is on. And the infamous snooze button is BIG, which come in handy when you're not really awake and need that extra 10 minutes. The clock and alarm functions work great and can easily be seen anywhere in the room. The speaker on this system however is WONDERFUL! The sound is very clear and gets really loud, so if you're just sitting in your room, it can double up as a speaker, which is what I use it for half the time. I also love how the alarm (with ipod, radio, or beeper) starts as very quiet and gradually builds up. It's pleasant to not get jabbed awake instantly by a loud alarm. The only drawback is that the beeper function is very quiet, which is why I have to give it 4 stars. I would not recommend using it at all. If you do not have your ipod (or whatever Apple product you use) handy when you need to set the alarm, use the radio, because it will actually wake you up.

Comments about iDesign® Cube Alarm Clock Radio for iPod® and iPhone® Devices:
Let me start by saying-- if this worked it would be awesome. I love the shape, intuitive interface, it plays my ipod music and charges, I am happy every day it works.
I would love it if it weren't for 1 major flaw: THE ALARM DOESN'T FUNCTION. Brookstone has replaced this alarm clock for me once alrady, but both units had the same issue. If you set alarm 1 to 7am (Monday), then move it to 8am for the next day (Tuesday), then move it back to 7am for Wednesday-- at exactly 7am on Wednesday, when your alarm should be going off a 0:00 will show up in the alarm 2 position and your alarm will NOT go off. Ok, great so you say why don't you use alarm 2 for this function instead of fooling with alarm 1 all the time? The same thing happens if you change the time for alarm 2, then go back to alarm 1. When this happens, no buttons on the entire alarm clock work and you have to unplug from the wall and plug back in. The good news? You don't have to reset the time because there is a battery backup. Seems like the reset switch wasn't engineered correctly. Really? How hard is it to get a clock chip to work-- seems like an intro engineering class to me. Anyway, this flaw was kind of a deal breaker for me.
As other reviewers have written, the gradual alarm is ok, but very loud if you don't get up immediately and cannot be set to your desired level. And, you have 1 hour to get up. After that, the alarm clock shuts off. That being said, just hit the snooze button and your 1 hour time limit resets for 6 times.

We will be returning this product. When the alarm goes off the volume starts to increase very quickly to a way too loud level. Not the way I want to wake up in the morning. Also the AM stations do not come in very clearly. This is definitely going back to the store. Shame.

What good is a clock that does not keep time? Last I checked, a minute was 60 seconds, not 28 seconds. As it was a gift, cannot return it.

Comments about iDesign® Cube Alarm Clock Radio for iPod® and iPhone® Devices:
I love the fact that this can dim completely - and the fact that the alarm buttons "pop-up" when the alarm is scheduled - makes it easy to turn off in the morning. You just have to remember to pop up the button every night. I dock my 2nd generation iPod Touch - and then I can stream Internet Radio on this device!

Three presets total for AM and FM bands is neglect. Do I pick one AM and two FM. Can you imagine having to scan across the am band one station at a time. Major design flaw.

I have tried the iPod/iPhone functions on the following devices. iPod (origional version i think), iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) and iPhone 4s (iOS 6.x). It charges all devices, but direct iPod audio only works with the iPod & iPhone 3G. I have not been able to get the iPhone 4s (iOS 6.x) to work.
