This jacket not only heated up, I was also very surprised at the quality and weight of the jacket. The material is really nice feeling and it looks so good on! I've received compliments from friends I've had try it on, too. The quality is unmistakably high and the look as flawless. So pleased by this purchase! (and here I was scared of online purchases).
Oh and the heat does last awhile. I'd just turn it on to heat me up and turn it off when I was warm enough. The button is in the top pocket so it's easily accessible. And the sleeves have interior grips (I thought that was cool. I hate the look of elastic sleeves).
And the brand is ActiVHeat, by the way. But it's better to buy from Brookstone because you can go to a store and return it if it doesn't fit and then you don't have to pay to ship it back. And Brookstone will ship you another size for free.

I wanted to try the jacket right away, but we have had pretty mild weather. I went out one evening when it was about 45 degrees F and maxed out the heat. I was sufficiently warm for an hour and a half, I would have thought I would be sweating! The heat generated by the jacket was barely noticeable, and I would have been just as comfortable with no heat.
When I went home I re-read the manual and while it can be used for temperatures as low as 32 degrees, but it works best in temperatures 50 to 86 degrees. Who needs a heated jacket for 50 degree weather?!
