I love this lantern for atmospheric lighting on my sailboat. I chose the white lantern, which comes with an amber lighting source. I would guess that it would be much brighter with a white LED, but it would lose the ambience. I bought one in order to try it out. I was hoping to get an attractive, weather-resistant, solar lantern to light the companionway entrance to my boat. I am more than pleased. Not only is the soft light very pleasing, but the lantern survived a fairly robust windstorm. I will be purchasing two more to hang from the ketch boom purely for the lovely soft light that these lanterns provide. Of course, I don't anticipate using these lanterns anywhere except when moored. The fact that they are solar powered is convenient for the average homeowner; for me, it makes them hugely attractive.

I really like the look and the design but I don't like that you really have to move it into the sun during the day to charge it and then at night move it to the tree that you're hanging it off of later. It would be best if you could just put it in the tree and forget about it!! Also it's not as bright as it looked in the online pictures.

I ordered the white, pink, orange and green. Easy to put together and look great. The only negative was that one of the pink ones does not work. But they look great in the back yard! Also, at night, the orange and the white look like they'd be the same color.

We purchased the white ones so we could get optimal light. Due to the confusing opening, we originally hung them upside down! The solar panel has to be on the top even though it looks like the handle fits on the other end because it has two hooks. We even replaced the batteries thinking they were the problem. I happened to take a second look at the box and quickly saw the problem. They light up even with a minimal amount of sun light during the day.

I only bought one, the pink one, to see how it would do. I think it's a keeper, so going to buy 3 more for the patio. Adds atmosphere and love the whole solar thing. We have tons of SUN out here in Arizona, so will keep on buying from companies that are doing SOLAR. It's the way to go...why is the U.S so slow with getting ahead of the times with solar and eco ways of living?? Other countries are way ahead of the United States in some of these areas.
