I love the canopy on my brookstone hammock. I get overheated in the sun. It also makes the hammock look nicer. I've had mine for 6 years and it still looks great. I even kept it up all year 3x. My husband told me to hang Irish Spring green soap to keep the deers away, they were beginning to nibble on my hammock. It did the trick.

I love being in the shade on my hammock, but I've had my canopy for a couple of years, and have had to do repairs both years, and this year it just fell apart. It's a lot of money for something that will only last a couple of years, at most.

It is very easy to set up but the hooks and chain should have been seared together. It's easy to lose parts:( Sometimes it get's a little hot underneath the canopy if there is no breeze. Other than that I'm pretty content with this item.
