I HAVE USED 3 OTHER BRANDS IN THE PAST. THIS UNIT IS WORTH EVERY CENT YOU PAY FOR IT. IT REALLY DOES WHAT IT SAY'S IT WILL DO. THE GREATIST THING IS YOU REALLY CAN GO THE DISTANCE ON THE RANGE WITHOUT LOOSING THE SIGNAL. AND FINALLY IT GIVES YOU ENOUGH TIME TO GO BACK TO THE GRILL TO TAKE MEAT OFF BEFORE IT OVER COOKS

This device deserves a five star award and is great in all respects except for probe failures that occur at the probe to braided cable interface requiring frequent replacement. Fix this problem and I would recommend this to everyone and I am sure they would find it as indispensible as I do.

The Grill Alert is easy to use and seems accurate. Nice to be able to walk away from grill and know that you can check the food temp very easy without opening up the grill. Down side is the probe did not last very long and I think it was either from damage to the cord from the grill cover, or getting wet when washing it after use. For the money I thought it was worth it to invest in a replacement

The probe replaced on that I've had for 10+ years. I always use it for BBQ'ing boston butts, grilling chicken and steaks. It is very convenient and the verbal announcement that the temp has been reached. I also use it to grill sausages by inserting the probe in the middle of the link and wait for the announcement!

I looked for a long time to find a meat thermometer with a suitable probe and wire. The Grill Alert probe is stainless steel with a metal braid over the wires. I have had the Grill Alert for a year and use it at least weekly. Fortunately I have a hole that allows the probe to extended out of the gas grill keeping the wires away for the very hot burners. I have used it where both the probe and wires were in the oven.
The meat is always done to perfection. I recommended the Grill Alert and feel it is the best out there.

I have been using this product for several years. It is very useful for monitoring meat temperature remotely. The probe has been replaced many times, due to the probe cable being exposed to overheating/flame. This appears to be the product's only weakness. Overall, great product!

My husband was bummed out when he thought our Grill Alert had broken. After carefully looking at the probe, we realized this might be the problem. Once we ordered our new probe, our whole system worked like a charm. We couldn't have lasted this summer without it. My husband likes to use his smoker and grill all summer long. Glad this was a simple solution
