This birdhouse is actually two houses with an inner wall separating twin nesting boxes each with a 1-1/4" entry hole.

Stationed in front of the double ornamental doors are two Chinese guardian lions, a male with his paw resting upon the world and a female restraining a playful cub on its back. Pairs of these "shishi" are believed to have powerful mythic protective benefits that are perfect for a birdhouse. Symbolically, the female lion protects those dwelling inside, while the male guards the structure. Messages of "good fortune" adorn the front posts.
