One of your favorite miniature planes!

The FW-190A Focke-Wulf or the Butcher Bird is one of best fighters of its generation. The FW-190A was used during the World War II and more than 20,000 were manufactured. The Focke-Wulf was a single seat, single engine fighter aircraft of Germany’s Luftwaffe. The FW-190A Focke-Wulf was favored by the pilots because of its superiority over other aircrafts. Compared to the bf109, the FW-190A is a workhorse, a very versatile aircraft. The FW-190A Focke-Wulf did well as a ground attack, long range bomber escort, night fighter and high altitude interceptor.

The FW-190A proved to be a deadly opponent to the Soviet, British and American air forces. The aircraft was first introduced in the autumn of 1941. Focke-Wulf demonstrated its ability to out run, out climb and out dive the Spitfire V, which is said to be the best fighter of the Royal Air force during that time. Many versions of the FW-190A Focke-Wulf were made. Its most successful role was being a ground attack plane. The FW-190A Focke-Wulf is the only reliable light attack bomber of the Germans.

The Focke-Wulf can be highly classified together with the Supermarine Spitfire, Vought F4U Corsair and North American P-51 Mustang. The FW-190A was constructed by a team of designers headed by Kurt Tank. The FW-190A aircraft is the successor of the Messerschmitt Bf109 fighter. The basic layout of the FW-190A is very ordinary. It is a monoplane with a nose mounted engine driving a tractor airscrew. The main plane is fully cantilever and was fitted with split flaps of metal constructions. Its other features can be operated by three electric push buttons located in the cockpit.
