Looking at all the online reviews of similar products it seems the general opinion is the Hitachi Magic Wand is the best product in it's class. I think this is because the people that review the Hitachi have never seen the Brookstone Flex Targeted Personal Massager. The Brookstone Flex Targeted Personal Massager has a MUCH better build than the Hitachi. It has 4 speeds compared to 2 for the Hitachi which makes it far more versatile. I have read that the Hitachi is the most powerful massager of it's type. The Brookstone product is actually more powerful on it's highest setting. Simply stated the Brookstone Flex Targeted Personal Massager is the best product in it's class...PERIOD.
If you own a Hitachi Magic Wand and want something better this is it. If you have thought about buying one you should consider the Brookstone if you really want the very best. You may pay slightly more for the Brookstone product but the superior quality of the Brookstone product more than makes up for the minor cost difference. When I purchase a Brookstone product I expect a high level of quality and I have yet to be disappointed.

I have purchased two of these in the past couple years. The first one was the display one at the store and i got it on sale so i didn't bother taking it back and after only maybe 6 months it stopped working. So then I bought another one brand new on line. I had it only 3.5 months and it stopped working. The company was really nice and said they would ship me another one. But I do have concern that these are not very durable for the price.

This is by far my best (mechanical) friend. My husband was badly injured nearly 2 years ago and (luckily I already had it) it became his quick & reliable replacement for keeping me sane when he couldn't. Now he's feeling well enough we can use it together sometimes so it's become a bonding tool for us too. PLUS I am relaxed and tolerable while taking care of him with this helper, PRICELESS. I use this 2 times a day sometimes so don't think twice about it's quality. I'd highly recommend you buy the warranty, why not for the price. I have 3 broken or replaced and broken Hitachis in a box I just found and happily threw away. If you want a "massager" you can rely on THIS IS THE BEST. The timer is a hassle but it turns right back on no problem. The cord is heavy and want's to pull on the unit too much so I wrap it around my big toe for slack, viola problem solved!

My long time friend, Mr. Hitachi Magic Wand, finally broke down and I went through 2 faulty Magic Wand's from the internet before I finally went to the mall to buy this one. It's everything I need. It's strong and sturdy and it hits the spot each and every time. My husband is relieved :)

This massager is pretty good, but I had read the past reviews and some said it was better than the Hitachi. I don't agree. Even with 4 speeds, the highest wasn't as powerful as the highest of the Hitachi. Don't get me wrong--it still does what it's supposed to do *wink wink*, I just like the Hitachi better. Sometimes when you just want to relax a little but not necessarily "do the deed" it is a perfect device. I put that I would not recommend this to a friend only because I would recommend the Hitachi first. Not because it's a bad product.
