We bought the Reliable Enviromate Tandem b/c it's the only steam cleaner on the market with suction. It's marketed for meeting the needs of both carpeting cleaning with all the power of steam cleaning.
Pros are that it's powerful, heats fast and the suction is great!! So far it cleans grout and windows/mirrors very well and easily. Does a nice job on the stove. Really love the steam for cleaning. Can vacuum and steam the floor at the same time. Very handy.
Cons are that it's bulky/heavy and doesn't move easily. Needs a higher handle to pull it.
Played around briefly with the carpet and upholstery tools. Jury is out - wasn't impressed and also didn't spend enough time to really learn how to best use the Tandem. Am waiting for the rotating brush tool for carpeting to arrive which I think will be much better than the ones included.
Wish list: ability to detach steam system from main body for use in the shower/tub where suction isn't important and ease of movement is. A CD demonstrating how to use it. Something for the very capable Reliable engineers and marketing folks to ponder.
If purchasing consider carefully the need for suction b/c it adds a lot in cost and weight. Otherwise love it.
