I emailed this product to my husband who's always hot. He thought it was a great idea, and it came with 2 free pillows. We usually sleep with sheets, comforter and a heavy quilt (which always ends up on my side). The first night we tried this (no quilt) I dressed how I always dress for bed in winter- long pants, tank and long sleeve shirt. I was a bit chilly before climbing under the covers but instantly I could feel it getting warmer. I was actually too warm that night. Hubby was also a little too warm with it too. Next night we turned the thermostat down a little lower and I slept w/ little on and it was perfect. Now I can dress like I do for bed in the summer and still be nice and toasty! Definitely won't be able to use in the summer though. Now I have to find a duvet. Sidenote - the free pillows didn't show up with the comforter, but I called customer service and they were happy to send me them.

I purchased to use as described- for husband/wife with opposing heat requirements. It's actually designed totally incorrect for that use. If you orient it that way, you are using the short length of the comforter (94" King) on the long span of the bed...you're short 14 inches of comforter! The result is almost no overhang of comforter on the sides and way too much on the front. Now instead of fighting over temperature, you're fighting over who has covers and who doesn't.
Other than that it's a nice comforter. The way it's designed, you can set it up so your feet get more comforter than your torso or vice versa, which is good too.

The idea behind this blanket is great. My husband and are both pleased with warmth level of the separate sides. However, it does not wash well. It is lumpy and covered with lint. I really want to like this blanket, but there is an obvious design flaw.

I would give this a 5 (and it deserves it for the value) except for one thing: the King width. It does not solve the blanket tug of war, because it barely covers the width of the bed. It must not be a King plus California King; it must just be a California King. And it doesn't help to turn it sideways, because that ruins the "warm side/cool side" effect. Just be aware of that when you order- otherwise we love it and I highly recommend it!

My husband is always cold at night. He sleeps by the bedroom window and prefers a heavier blanket. I prefer a more lightweight, thinner blanket on me when I sleep. This comforter is perfect for us as it is accommodating to us both without a lot of bulk. We both get what we want!

the quality is as you would expect but I haven't washed it yet, do wish it came in different colors though. We got it for me with hot flashes, with window open & fan on, hubby was cold - works great.
